Thumbs up New guy from WI saying hi!

Hey all,
Been lurking under the radar here for a few years, but finally decided to sign up. I've learned a lot just from searching the archives and looking at the product reviews.

I currently drive/obsess over a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Bright Silver Metallic. Far from anything exotic, but it suits me fine, and I want to keep it looking its best.

I just recently got turned on to the Duragloss line, and many of their products have been very impressive. I used to detail cars back in high school, and have a lot of "old school" knowledge, but as times and paints changed, I got lazy and just slopped some cheap wax/sealant on. Now that I got this Jeep, I want to keep it looking great, so I'm getting back into things a bit.
The Duragloss products have worked very well. Their #111 polish is a fantastic product, as is their Aquawax detailer.

Silver is a bit of a "blah" color, so it seems like it takes quite a bit to make it extraordinary. A silver car can look good even if it's not looking good, if that makes any sense.

I plan on doing some photography of the Jeep once I get it to the point where I'm satisfied with it, and it might be able to impress some of the experts.

I'll drop by every now and then.

Regards,
Mike

Re: New guy from WI saying hi!

Thanks for the welcome, fellow WI Jeeper!

This is my 7th Jeep, and I really like them. Never owned a Liberty yet though...I guess maybe out of spite since I had a 2001 60th Anniversary Cherokee (XJ) and they replaced the Cherokee with the Liberty (KJ) the following year. Lots of Jeep purists were upset at that.

My XJ was black too, and though it's a very rewarding color when done correctly, keeping it that way was a never ending task. After I sold that one, I bought a '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. Always wanted a 'niner, and this one was a good deal, or so I thought. Rebuilding the rear differential, front differential and transfer case within 2 months after taking ownership made it not such a good deal anymore. I did like the color of it though...It was Bright Platinum Metallic, and it was a very easy color to keep looking good.
