Yet another newbie

been lurking this site off and on for past 5 years, finally registered.

Really need to purchase some new towels, can't find any 100% Cotton made in USA white towels anymore and the 15 or so that I have range from 4-9yrs old.

I used them to dry as well as removing polish or spot cleaning. Seems microfiber is the now thing to have, buy read mixed reviews. Who sells the right ones that are the better quality and won't scratch the finish?

Yes -- don't use cotton towels anymore on your paint. They may be OK for drying door jambs, etc. If you want OTC microfiber, try the Vroom ones from Target. The gray ones are nice and fluffy. I've used the Costco MF in the past, and haven't had problems. Now, I keep them for interior, and glass. If you go to mail order MF, your options are endless.

Yet another microfiber towel discussion. I have many, but still sometimes see benefits with using a high end cotton towel.

If you truly want to stick with cotton towels, there are still some reputable sites around that sell cotton towels or microfiber alternatives that are every bit good as higher-end microfiber. Sometimes you can also find suprima towels on Overstock.Com.

I use DFTowel.com, they are also having a 25% off sale, but they sell some of the nicest towels around. These towels are microfiber towels unlike any other.

I also us LAZaino, which has a nice package of suprima cotton towels that are properly prepare for using on the car. You could probably find the same towels around in the local store, but are you really going to prep them for using on your car. They take that work off of your shoulders.

If you still want to use microfiber, then the OTC brand to use is Viking (Sears or KMart), or you can go with boutique brands, such as Sonus (my favorite), Cobra (autogeek), Pakshak, or Adams.
