Hello all, my name is Dustin. I'm looking to up the ante on my detailing. I thought I was doing well before, and wow I was not even close. I'm looking to get the car looking good over the winter. Ill post pics when I can (I noticed new users can't post them until they are cleared by mods). Anyways the site is really informative! Seems like alot of great people on here as well. I'm super excited to learn from you all!!!

BTW I have a 98 Vogue Silver Metallic Turbocharged Civic. Paint has minor scratching that Im hoping you all can help me get out.

I also have a 95 dark green accord that is pretty beat up. I'm not sure if it can be helped. I will post pic's when I can and maybe you all can tell me.

Onto the questions....I hope its ok to post questions in here.

Also I already have a question. I know you all probally hate the "which wax is best" but my question has a bit of twist. I have been reading on here and other boards and most members say almost all the wax is the same. Its the polish that makes the most difference.

I have decided to use Menzerna Polish (IP and the 106FF) and I have also been looking at the p21s wax and the sourveran wax. But both say best for dark colored cars. Is there any way that is "better" for lighter color cars like silver? The Civic is not daily driven so I'm not so much worried about durability.

Well, it is the total paint prep that is so important, polish is part of that. Doing a good job claying your car will make the polishing easier and more effective.

I know you said you want to use wax but posters on here post some incredible pics of Jeff's Werkstatt Acrylic Jett on their silver cars. I use A-Jett on my white Eclipse and have been very very satisfied with it. Since you are in Louisville like myself, if you want to borrow some Jeff's Werkstatt Prime Strong (their All in One) and Jeff's Werkstatt A-Jett just let me know.

The Jeff's seems pretty inexpensive so I might just buy a bottle and see what happens. Its not like buying $50 souveran only to find out its looks as good as something half the price.

I just don't want to take all the time to trial and error a bunch of products when most people on this site have done that already and have a good linup of waxes/sealants that work thousand times better than the norm.

I don't have a digital pic of my car at the moment but if you go to the search section of the web site and do a search of the Click and Brag Forum for Acrylic Jett, you will find dozens of pictures of cars which use Acrylic Jett. Or do a search of Scottwax's posts. He uses Jeff's quite often. It seems Jeff's or Clearkote are the products he reaches for most often.
