Voltage conversion for PC

Its it possible or has anyone used this method of converting the voltage from 110v to 240v.
I thought i would ask before i bought one.

Re: Voltage conversion for PC

That little transformer would be way too small to handle the current of a PC. The following thread has some good info:

http://autopia.org/forum/machine-pol...ower-long.html

One of your UK vendors, Autopia member cleanyourcar, sells a transformer set-up for a PC:

Sonus SFX Polishing Kit

"This Sonus SFX Polishing Kit comes complete with :

- 110v Tranformer
- 14 meter Extension Lead
- 110v plug

(the total cost of these componants alone can easily be £100)

That means you don't have to order lots of bits from other companies and we deliver the Porter Cable and all the equipment necessary to convert to UK spec direct to your door. The price even includes free postage and packing!"

Edit: The following post mentions that Meg's in the UK have a prototype 240 volt PC. It might be worth your time try and see how close they are to releasing it....... sure would be a lot easier, and possibly cheaper, than messing around with a transformer:
