Only just saw this sticky - great list Steve

A couple of others that I can only just remember right now:

Simple green All Purpose Cleaner (tyres, wheel wells, engine, underbody etc) - £9.99 for a litre (which can be watered down to suit).

http://www.simplegreen.co.uk/haushalt_01.php.htm

Good quality sheepskin mitts - £10 for 2.

http://www.sheepskinshop.co.uk/accessories.htm

Cheep MF cloths (for wheels, door jams, engine etc) from any good pound shop.

Worth noting that www.iauto.co.uk now have free next day delivery for orders over £20.

Their P21S alloy wheel cleaner, glass cleaner & Speed shampoo are all excellent & well worth a go.

Nick, thanks, I had forgotten about Simple-green. Pound shops etc are a great place for cheap MF towels.

Vindaloo, good work on the deliver from Iauto. I would say the shampoo is the best one I have so far tried. The wheel cleaner is also an excellent and safe product to use. Not tried the glass cleaner yet but hopefully in the near future I will.

The glass cleaner is really very good, it's about the only one I've tried that doesn't streak at all.

Has anyone compared Simple Green with Megs APC+?

APC+ is available in the UK for about £8 a gallon which makes it a fraction of the cost of SG. You also dilute it up to 20:1 depending on what you do with it.
I've used for cleaning the engine, carpets, upholstery & it works a treat.

On another note:
I've also just got some MF products from AG Group in Australia inc a superb MF wash mit. These products seem to be as good as Pakshak products which I also have. I haven't seen MF as good as either of these brands in the UK.

Slightly out on my price, I'm afraid but still not too bad at about £11 odd. Available from 3 places take your pick, delivery costs might be the decider here:-

www.extremecarcare.co.uk

& also available from Alex @ Serious Performance (recommended)

How do the PakShak & Oz MF's compare with Megs UW then? I'm gradually building up a large quantity of MF's but only have a single UW. I'm really keen on finding the best MF around but would agree that those I've got here so far have been less impressive then the UW.

I'd also be interested in people's views on UK wheel cleaners. Iseem to have started using A LOT since getting onto Autopia - maybe it's the "doing it properly" thing but I reckon that £ for £ it's wheel cleaner which actually costs me the most dosh.

I bought the larger sized GC shampoo, although pricey at £14 odd it has lasted me about 5 months so far with about 1/3 left so not bad. I use Hot Rims at present but am going through it too fast and am considering buying bulk but not sure what's the best bet - any suggestions as I need something easily available OR in bulk so I can dispense and make it last.

Thanks in advance

The MF's I have from OZ & Pakshak are leagues ahead & less than half the price of Meg MF, no comparison! Both companies are great to deal with & Ranney at Pakshak makes sure that you don't pay duty (ask for Autopia discount as well)

Wheel cleaners are personal choice, if you want the kindest & most effective then buy P21S from Iauto, he does a 1 litre refill which you can use in any spray head bottle. Not cheap but effective & kind to your wheels.

The GC class shampoo is great value in the large size & I like it. The A1 from Iauto is probably better, you get a lot less but it is highly concentrated

Cheers Jim

Andy - sounds like you are using an awful lot of wheel cleaning products! I personally only ever use them when I cannot shift dirt with regular shampoo, however I rarely have this problem.

I believe that regularly using a wheel cleaner is not only bad for the finish, but unecessary. It also means you need to re-apply a sealant wax every time you use a wheel cleaner (because it will strip any wax already on there).
