Re: Good hand guns

Well, you can tell you're on a forum with most members from the U.S., when a thread about firearms gets eight pages and pictures, too.

Re: Good hand guns

Finally bought my first gun
Taurus PT 24/7 PRO .40 cal (*img not of my actual gun my memory card is acting up)

Bought it due to this over active hurricane season we are currently having. Filled both clips (15 each) with Federal Premium hollow point 155 grain Hyro-Shok bullets. Unfortunately with these canes moving about I don't have time to shot a few rounds through it. Hopefully in 2 weeks I can take it for a spin and run some rounds through it.

You moved *out* of South Fl and bought a gun?!!? Man I can't wait to get one down here. I live on campus now so its gotta wait a little while, but a lot of the places I end up in, I would feel more comfortable with a CCW.

Re: Good hand guns

Always relied on my fathers rifle & pistol, now on my own I just felt naked without one. Besides there is nothing even close to South FL type fun up here so the firing range is going to be my playground.

Re: Good hand guns

Congrats on your purchase! SOMETIMES I miss S. FLA but not enough to go back. Moving here (NC) is what got me in to guns.

Mine stay loaded with Gold Dots for protection. I use Federal at the range.

Re: Good hand guns

Thanks for that info BM, yeah I sometimes miss SoFlo but not enough to move back. Vacation for a week or so heck yeah, deal with the people/traffic/expense I'm good where I'm at. Mostly miss the Cuban food and coffee and having fun things to do.

Re: Good hand guns

Just switched over to Glocks 26, 19C, 34. Sold my HK USP compact 40cal, Kimber Eclipse Target Full size 45acp, and XD Tactical 40cal. The Glocks IMO are a little harder to shoot well, but its way easier to work on, easier to modify and cheaper. I've been Conceal carrying my 19C in a IWB M.T.A.C holster from Comptac no problems pretty comfortable.

Re: Good hand guns

Finally was able to fire this gun and I must say I LOVE MY TAURUS. Using Winchester FMJ 165 gr target/range bullets I only had 1 bullet jam the first day............after firing 215 rounds back to back with small breaks to reload. For a .40 this gun is super smooth and very little recoil for me. It felt like the Glock 17 & Beretta 9m as far as recoil goes. My wife who is issued a Beretta loved my Taurus 200% over it. She was amazed how much more control she had firing it. My 52 yr old mother was able to out shoot all of us. And she is also the one with the least experience (beginners luck I tell ya).

Re: Good hand guns

wytstang- Glad to hear everyone likes the Taurus so much Wonder how it'll feed the Federals

Heh heh, not surprised your Mom is the best shot of the bunch either I've seen plenty of women who were the best at the range.
