Shifter Cart Racer's???

Is anyone into shifer cart racing? It is a hobby that I picked up. It is the cheapest way to get into auto racing. These things do 0-60mph in around 3 sec.have a top speed of 125mph they also pull a G-force of around 3G's when you are going into a corner. They are awesome!!
This is mine that is sponsored by my detailing company Stewart Detailing. My son is the one in the driver's seat.

If you are looking for a new hobby I recommend this one.

Re: Shifter Cart Racer's???

I never did shifter karts, but I raced this Yamaha with a modified 100cc motor on dirt for a couple years in the early '80's in South Carlina. I sold it and bought a Margay (if I remember correctly) and put a 100cc rotary valve motor and ran it on dirt and in sprint races on asphalt.

You are correct in that it is a lot of fun. I quit when others started showing up in 30' trailers with spare frames, motors, etc., and a 16 year old driver flew in on a helicopter. I was there for fun. I went to flying radio controlled helicopters.

Good luck with your racing and stay safe.

Re: Shifter Cart Racer's???

I got a rc heli for Christmas last. I had heard that they were hard to fly but I also bought the simulator and was getting real good at that so I figured it was time to try the real thing. I was wrong! I think I spent more money on the parts putting the thing back together then the thing cost. Every time I tried to fly it I crashed it. I got very frustrating. So now I have a Nitro Savage truck and a drift car. I told my wife I want a rock crawler for Christmas this year.
