Re: Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar
Hope Randy ROCKS Brock....brock is a big boy and dominated in his last fight but he is also cocky and needs to be smacked around.

Re: Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar
randy is more well rounded and i hope he takes him to the ground and pounds him (send him back to another wrestling organization). while brock has good wrestling and one punch power, he still has alot to learn in MMA and he is not even close to randy in terms of skills/smarts. but then again... all is takes is one punch. we'll see...

Re: Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar
The safe bet is to never bet against Rany Couture.
Who really thinks Brock deserves a title shot against Randy with only 3 fights under his belt (only two wins)? Who do they think he is.....Kimbo? )

I'm not a Lesnar fan by any means, but the heavyweight class is pretty minimal. I think Brock should have had to go through somebody like a Gonzaga or a Werdum before he got a shot at the title, but Joe and Dana know more about the sport than I do. I think Big Nog will probably beat Mir and will probably beat the winner of the Couture vs Lesnar fight. Big Nog struggled standing with Sylvia, but it was over fast when it hit the ground. I think big Nog will make quick work of Lesnar if that fight happens.
As for Randy, I bet against him in the Gonzaga fight, but he is a master of game plan execution. He hasn't really done well in the past in title defense fights, so we'll see. Lesnar is VERY Strong, and VERY Fast, but also VERY inexperienced. I know he's strong, but I wonder how HARD he can really punch. He clipped Herring with a great shot in the opening minutes or round one, but he couldnt finish. I know Herring is a durable guy, but I would expect Lesnar (with his size and strength) to finish the fight. Herring only had one eye. Like I said, I know Herring is a durable guy, but I question Lesnar's punching power (we all know he is freakishly strong).

Re: Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar
As a former freestyle wrestler who also dabbled a little in Greco Roman wrestling, I see this as a very good matchup. Both are excellent on their feet as far as takedowns and takedown defense, and neither of them has exhibited one punch KO power like A. Silva, W. Silva or a Chuck Liddell. Size and speed goes to Lesner, and experience and the stategic ability obviously goes to Couture. I would have a hard time laying money on this one, and although Couture has that true championship ability to rise to the occasion I have never seen him in the octagon with an equally experienced wrestler like Lesnar. Neither of these guys are submission specialist, and I have a hard time understanding why most great wrestlers who try their hand at MMA never seem to know how to deliver a rear naked choke or armbar. I do not see a submission happening, but if Lesnar takes Couture to the ground he could be in for a long night of hammer fists.
I would not miss this one for anything, and should be the UFC's biggest all time draw. Its good to see Dana's not spoon feeding Lesnar like Kimbo. I cannot wait to see Kimbo fight a fighter who is not a stepping stone or a fighter like Shamrock who is about 15 years past his prime.

Sweet! I still have the very 1st UFC and a few after on tape somewhere. My cousin has been training and learning from Bas Rutten for a few years now down in Arizona. I really hope he makes it with all the hard work and sacrifice he's put into it. He has not been normal since Desert Storm and this is the only thing that seem's to level him out.
