May I offer some suggestions first before paying for a detailer? Get yourself a clay bar and some lube and try that. If that doesnt work get a microfiber or a very soft rag and pour some vinegar on it and gently rub it on the surface of the the spots and see if they come out. Obviously make sure that the surface is clean before you start dabbing and rubbing.

Clay only removes what's on the surface..if the etching is under, the clay won't cut it.

There are paint neutralizer systems that require 3 steps for a single wash. These will clean into the pores. I'm trying one out this week and will let you know if I'm successful. On our move back from Ohio, we had overnight moisture in MO and Texas. Each morning there were water spots- not the ordinary kind. The window cleaner at the gas station would not even move the spots- the outlines are still there!!!

I hope the previous guy did not perform a "buff" to take them out and screw up your paint.

If not deep, try that vinegar idea. There are also other water spot removers, but there are those that do not advocate their use on paint.

Anyway, good luck and there might be the right person in your area.

I will forward your request to a detailer that may be able to connect you with the right person.

Rob

thanks for the 411. looking forward to your pn systems usage and review. the other guy just did a light polish, so i am told...

i've read about compounding and wet sand but they appear to be quite aggressive. i will try a detailer who can polish it out w/o too much damage to the clear coat. thanks again.

I was able to remove some severe water spoting on my 1994 black Mustang with my PC, 6.5" orange pad and some DACP. Tried first with OC, but it wouldn't touch the them but the DACP took them out with just a couple of good passes.
