Smoker car treatment in NorCal

Hey guys, I pulled up a search and nothing came up so I apologize if this is a repost.

I'm looking for a good detailer in NorCal who can give a solid smoker car treatment. Long story short, I picked up a ZJ Jeep Grand Cherokee for a daily/off-roader and it was a smoker car; the smell is bad, not to mention the negative health effects I'm probably getting. It's an older ZJ and I picked it up really cheap, so I was thinking about just shelling it off and picking up another non-smoker. If I could take it somewhere to get a price quote on an extremely thorough smoker car job, I would like to hear some prices from locals. I don't want just the smell gone, but any residue on interior pieces as well.

I'm a strict non-smoker, don't mind others smoking but would rather not take any in myself, and wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of negative health effects, if any, that this could have even after the smell is significantly reduced and the interior is cleaned?

Thanks guys.

I'm in Palo Alto but will take it anywhere within reasonable range to someone who has experience doing smoker cars. I really want to save the car rather than have to sell it.

i'm around the area, but i've never worked with a smoker car. If it has fabric seats then the best way would proabbly be to shampoo no? I would change out the Cabin Air Filter and then vaccume/shampoo everything that you have. It'll probably take a detailer 3-4 hours total.

Re: Smoker car treatment in NorCal

you can allways rent an ozone machine and treat it yourself. rental shops usually have them and rental rates are reasonable ($30-40 day) for a small machine. just rent it on sat. and take it back on mon. (get sunday free). be sure to wipe down ALL the hard interior surfaces before you do it, maybe twice.

good luck!

Nobody knows a solid interior detailer? I could care less about the exterior.

I don't know how much work you're willing to do yourself, but here's what one detailer in the UK did on a car that was being smoked in for 13 years, pretty impressive stuff: http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/...-uk-style.html
