Plus, no license and no insurance, come on! Then don't get me started with these guys advertising $15 washes and $50 "Details" on F-150's!!!!!!
It makes me MAD I am not a complete expert but I take my time and build my reputation.
The market is never flooded here because so many people move in this area.
Being clean shaven, wearing a company polo shirt and tucked in!!! Not having a ton of jewerly on. I mean whatever happened to "Professionals"?

I guess its like that everywhere, the people down here make me cringe.

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
I'm don't detail full time anymore. I had a business for 10 years back in Michigan. I'm an Auto Appraiser for an insurance company and I'm on the road traveling most of the day in and out of repair shops and office buildings. Cars here in Florida get much less abuse than what I'm use to in Michigan. I tend to notice much less marring on black cars in comparison. Back home we're flooded with $1 & $2 drive thru car washes that really screw up people's vehicles. I'm on the west side of Lake Worth/Wellington. What's the name of your company?

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
I work from Boca up to Port Saint Lucie (only because I know a few people there)
Maybe you can meet me to look at this BMW Z8 and tell me what you think I should do?

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
I can tell you for certain that the market in S. FL is definitely NOT saturated. I live north of Ft. Lauderdale, and am busy enough to where I would pay someone to detail my vehicles so I don't have to. However, I still do it myself, because everyone down here is a hack.
If you're a legit detailer that practices Autopian methods in my area, PLEASE PM me.

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
Autopian Methods????
SOmeone wanna help me out with that?
15951 - Here in Palm Beach County it seems different than your area. I see about 5-7 hack detailers a day here. Yet the only outcome I see is a swirl marked cars driving around and people charging $40 to detail a car and $50 for trucks!!!!
Once again, if your driving around advertising $10 for a MOBILE wash, your a freaking moron. THen everyone has the pre-conceived notion about what "detailers" look like and are shocked when I show up in a Polo shirt with my company name and mine, tucked in, clean shorts or pants and my Occupational license visible in my truck window. Then to top the cake, I ask then if they want to be a certificate holder through my insurance....most of the time they don't but it helps.
So, people like me and you who are legit are "not" saturating the area - However $10 guys are!

I ran into a friend today and he told me I was expensive $125 for basic detail on a mid size car), because he has a local guy do it for $40......hes like "they do my interior and everything". this of course on his black IS300 which was covered in swirls and whatnot.

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
I get that SOOO much. You have to walk them to their car and SHOW them. Only then do they realize their car is screwed.
I have done work for Derek and Justin Bell, I also do work for Paul Ozkean and his son Blaine. They can spot ANY imperfection. he understands that anything that involves cars is NOT easy. Sometimes giving them a little "Demo" on a panel helps them to see the light...without swril marks!

Re: Market saturated in South Florida?
Saturated market does not really matter if your customers like "your" results. Word of mouth is the only way to really get regular customers.
