she took it to the dodge dealership. they said there was a small leak somewhere. they filled it with some neon stuff so they couldfind the leak. i guess they found a small one. they patched it up and filled her up with freon.

they said they cant get a new hose, they have to replace the whole thing, hence the 1500 bux. we paid 150 for the check up and the refill. it still works, but it should be anytime now that it craps out.

I think it's BS, if you can try ICE COLD AIR and see what they tell you and bring the paperwork from the dealer that said you need a whole a/c for the car. Also what yr and make and model is the car, and engine and maybe i could look up information on the car.

i have to check with her, i think its 2001 , jeep cherokee

engine im not sure, i think its a 4.0L V6, im not sure though

Just me know when you can and i will try to get information on that model, just for your info Chrysler (some) models / lines have been notorious for a/c problems. But i see if i can help out.

I think she will probably need her car that day. Ill see maybe I can drop her off at work? Where the hell would we start anyways, I dont know anything about AC's.

Hey Jim, did some research on the a/c problem and a coworker had a problem with his a/c on his PT Cruiser. He told me that he had the same problem as you girlfriend's jeep, and the dealer told him the same thing that you wrote, so i remember that i send him to ICE COLD AIR, and they fix it for him for 350.00 dollars. If the leak is coming from the metal lines from the compresser or the another area that is something that could be fix. Just try to go to ICE COLD AIR and ask them to see if it could be repair, if they say the same thing that the dealer said , then ask what needs to be replace (All parts names) and maybe a auto salvage yard might have those parts which be much more cheaper then 1500.00 bucks. It's your or her choice but remember summer is about here already. Also I will bring the wife's Toyota to the meet, because i want to learn on the PC and if Josh has his Rotary there too.

Thanks Angelo, what would they charge me just to look at it??

Dodge charged me 200 bux just to look at it and diagnose it. then they said 1500 more to fix it. Does Ice cold air charge to just look at it?
