[HELP] Car Product Definitions

While I may be new to this forum, I am quite experienced in detailing. I do know which products do what and I always keep my car clean (I Zaino/Lexol interior one weekend, wash-polish-wax other). In search to become better, I ended up in this forum. Full of wise detailing people, I had to register. I read many detailing threads here, and one made me realize I knew less than I thought. While reading one of the threads, I came to see the "acronyms" used, here called "Secret Decoder Ring." What I did not find were definitions of product types. I not only searched google, but I searched autopia forums to find these answers. I didnt find any so I hope you guys dont feel offended by the start of this thread. These are the different types of products and the definitions I know.

Car wash: Product used to clean car, everyone amis for something wax-friendly such as Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds
Clay Bar: Soap used to take contamination of car. Microparticles that stick to the car which cannot be removed by washing are removed by this. Makes surface flatter for better reflexion.
Polish (abrasive): ?
Polish(chemical): ?
Pads: used to polush your car with a machinne like Porter Cable. Lake Country VC are the industry standard.
Wax: Car product which makes the car look wet and shiny. Does not protect from salt-corrosion-etc and does not last long. Wax cannot be layered (unlike polish).
Sealant: ?
Glaze: ?

Here are my questions:
1) I always thought that there was only one type of Polish (which is used to remove fine scratches from cars). I use Zaino Fusion myself. What is the difference between Abrasive and Chemical polish? Do both penetrate and remove previous layers of wax?
2) Can any wax be layered?
3) What is a sealant? I thought sealants were another name for Wax.
4) I never heard about Glaze. What are they?

This should probably be posted over in detailing product discussion to get a bit more visability. You will find lots of opinions here so let me give you a few links.
