Ever gotten drunk with an Ex?

As some of you know from my other post I've recently split from my GF of 5 years. Since this has happened my Ex GF that I dated before this girl of 5 years had recently found me on Myspace and just messaged me out of the blue. I haven't talked to her in 3+ years. Now I currently live in Reno, NV and am going back to GA to visit family and friends next month and she wants us to go out and have a few drinks, well actually she said she wants to see me drunk, being as when we were 1st dating we were both in high school. She was my 1st real love and I'm truly grateful to have her back as a friend, but I'm wondering if any of ya'll have had good experiences with drinking/hanging out with an Ex?

i can sort of relate. neither my ex or i drink but, i recently text her asking if she still had any Christmas bows left over. last year she made a bunch and was going to sell them this year. shes like "yeah, come over and ill wrap your presents, seriously!" so, about a week later (like 3 weeks ago) i went over to her house on a Saturday. she wrapped my gifts and we ended up going "out". we hung out with some friends then caught a late night movie. took her home and we made out for a while when i dropped her off...no big deal, but it showed some seriousness. we were talking about getting back together and stuff, so we talked on the phone every day for like 2 weeks. one day she just started ignoring me. no big deal, i was just going to use her for the dirty until her birthday. but anyhow, moral of the story. ex's are ex's for a reason. that being said, each ex is entirely case-by-case.

also, we had dated for about a year and were split for 9 or so months. not 3 years without talking

Odds are that is a recipe for "bad things" (read between the lines) to go on.

Figure out what you want, or not, and make a decision well in advance what you are looking for.

I agree... move forward and never look back. It's nice to stay in touch with old flames, but the relationship ended for a reason. Getting drunk (out of control) is sure to lead to other things that won't allow to you move forward.

The new year is coming. Clean house and kick the garbage to the curb!

Classic, this gets my vote too...after 5 years with teh same girl, you need to go "experience" another girl, even if it isnt for the first time...just be safe and wrap it...
