After detailing this beast today http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69006 I started thinking that it might be nice to hire a friend and train them how to do the work as well. I could buy another pc and then we could both polish at the same time cutting down my overal time by a lot. I ussually do at least 1 full detail every saturday and sunday and it is tough work and tiring. I would probably pay $10-15 an hour and it seems like it would be easier and more enjoyable to work with a friend. Id probably only use him when Im tired or know I have a real tough job. Anyone ever done this or have any comments?

Absolutely true on both counts, in my (very unfortunate) experience. I'll *never* do either with/for any friend again as long as I live.

I could of seen it get ugly if we did not break up the partership though. Maybe instead of hiring your friend you just ask him to help when you need it and pay him for it? When we first started off we would detail two per. It was more trouble than it was worth because you always get in eachother's way. I would do the exterior on most of them while he worked on the interior. It sucked because if I was to a door that he needed open I would have to skip it and come back later and it just ruined my rhythm and was not as effienct as you would think. Now what I do if I need help on a bigger job is just hire this guy to help and give him the easy stuff to do.
