The answer to this is going to vary greatly upon location and type of service. Anywhere from $25-50/hour is not uncommon, a few are closer to $75/hour.

on wash/wax jobs a detailer will earn $30-50/hr and will increase if paint correction is done.

ok I knew it depends on the area and the person who does it and the condition of the paint. I was just wondering the costs of it thats all. not looking to getting to the buisness. just knew poeple on here always always talking how expensive it was and wanted to see what ball park figures was. thanks for the info

I don't see many hourly rates here on the West Coast. It's usually just a flat fee. Would you just give the client an estimate of how many hours you think it will take and then do the final calculation afterwards?

I thought about doing flat rates (there are exceptions) but I think ultimately it would be best to do hourly. Plus I still have the ability of incurring other charges for additional things such as costs for mobile details that are more than 15 miles away from me.
