Suggestions for detailing a limo...

My newest account is with a Funeral Home. I've recently done two of the owners cars and I just recently got a call saying that they want the home's limo done so I'm doing it this saturday afternoon in their huge 10 car garage. I'm just wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I've never tackled a limo before so any helpful hints would be great! Thanks

If it is a funeral home limo, it should just be like cleaning a regular car, with an extra row of seats - nothing special.

If it were an event limo, you may have to shine up a mini bar or mirrored ceiling or something, but that obviously shouldn't be the case with a funeral home car.

From a former limo polisher/detailer, my advice is, don't. LOL. But honestly, it's just like lineup up a couple cars in a row. IT sucks.

haha, they just want a basic wash and wax, external only so I'm gonna do the usual and maybe do a layer of VM and then possibly layer on Natty's Red. Dress the tires and wheels and clean the class. I quoted them $225 and they said to do it whenever I had free time.

Limos aren't THAT bad. It definitely wouldn't take too long to just wash and VM the exterior. The exterior takes about 40% more time than a regular car would.

I'm figuring about 3-4 hours or so.

Funeral limos, are much easier then regular limos. Funeral limos arent used that much, people are well dressed when they are in them. Regular limos, anything goes.

I treat every new account as such. They're talking about me doing it completely in and out 3-4 times a year and then do a wash and wax 3-4 times additionally. It definitely helps that I've already established a good rep with one of the owners and this is the first of the actual business vehicles I'll be doing with more to come I'm hoping.

Agreed. Plus, I doubt a funeral home limo has been puked in or had beer spilled in it.

I have a customer with a Town Car limo that I detail a couple times a year. Two step exterior and an interior vacuum and wipedown takes about 3, maybe 4 hours so your time estimate is right on.

Anyway, I did the limo on saturday. The car is swirled terribly but they told me to not bother removing the swirls this time of year. I talked to the owner's son today and they're thrilled with how it came out with the 2 step exterior I did. VM, then topped with 845 to give it some durability. I'm hoping they have me come back to clean up the rest of the home's cars but we'll see. They're happy, that's all I know.
