You did the right thing scott,

Anytime you get into something like that. Its too easy to push the blame on someone else who was working on it. Rather than themselves. If your customer went and said yeah I had a detailer come and work on it. It makes it wayyy to easy to say We didn't do that. Your hired gun did this hack up. Not us.
