Steamer and Extractor for Mobile Business (TR5 and Mytee 8070 vs Desiderio Dilemma)

Need a bit of help here...

I've been researching extrators and steamers for the past few days and am wondering if the desiderio is a good choice for me. I was thinking about going with the TR5 and the Mytee 8070 initially but I kinda like the convenience of everything in one unit. The TR5 going for $420 or so and the 8070 going for $700 or so (plus shipping), it's pretty comparable to the $1300 on the Desiderio.

Here is what I need to know. What do I lose by going with the Desiderio except for a small price difference? It looks (by the specs) that it's steamer functions are better than the TR5. I can't find much to compare it with the 8070. I can still use the same chemicals that you guys use for the 8070 on the Desiderio, correct?

Some more background info...

I'm a (very) part time mobile detailer and have an upscale clientele mainly referred to by friends and friends of friends. I'm doing about 15-20 cars a month only. Is my best bet going with the 2 machines or just one?

I currently have a mytee. Although mine is a big unit for a building. Great machine. Great brand name as well. Not sure about the others but I've never been dissapointed with the mytee brand.

The Desidero is not a full blown extractor. You will be limited to how much
rinsing and and extracting you can do. It is nice if your steaming a cae and come to a spot that needs a little extraction. You can hit it right there and then start steaming again.
Or you can steam and vac at the same time.

My friend has one and loves it.
Im not so sure I would.

For the price... is a TR5 and a 8070 more useful than a Desiderio? Should I step up to a TR6 and a 8070?

I can get a smokin' deal on some of these if anyone is interested...

RL100 Breeze

Retail is $1015. I can probably get them for about $525-550.

I stumbled across them while I was shopping for a Mytee Lite myself.

*Note: It's a cold water unit.

How does a cold water extractor compare to a hot water one like the 8070?

I've heard that the chemicals you use can make up the difference.

Re: Steamer and Extractor for Mobile Business (TR5 and Mytee 8070 vs Desiderio Dilemma)

I have the desiderio, and I really like the unit. It offers good extraction/ vacuuming, and delivers really intense steam. In fact, if I do an extraction, I can usually get the carpet in a dry state within an hour or a lil more. It is currently my go-to unit for almost all of my interior work. Because it is an all in one machine, I can use it on my current mobile work.

By getting seperate units however, you have the benefit of larger capacity boiler tanks (especially with an extractor). The only real thing you would sacrifice if space as you now have two units versus one.

Re: Steamer and Extractor for Mobile Business (TR5 and Mytee 8070 vs Desiderio Dilemma)

Here is another point. I don't use a generator. I currently use the customer's power. Would I overload their circuit by connecting both to the same circuit?

Another thing... I live in Colorado. The air here is dry as **** so I'm pretty sure the carpets would dry quick.

Keep it coming guys!!!! thanks!
