Professional Extractor/Great Price

I recently was delieverd a new carpet extractor made by Century. The same company that puts of the Ninja and the Sensei which are two of the better extractors out there.

The Century 400 "Spot Plus" (also called the "Striker") comes well packed and ready to go. Unlatch the rear clip and remove the top, which is where the extracted water goes into, and fill up the lower half with either water or water plus your carpet cleaning solution. The solution tank holds 1.4 gallons, the recovery tank holds 2 gallons. It creates 75'' of water lift and the spray nozzle works great. It really pumps your solution/water out and gets into the carpet fibers well.

I really like the generous 15ft. cord it comes with which means that in most cases I don't need an extra extension cord to operate it.

I have had the extractor about a week now and its small size and lightweight make it just perfect, It blows away the Little Green machine by Bissel. Now this is not a HOT water unit but you can use hot water with it. Simply buy a water bucket heater and then transfer the hot water to the tank.

If you have a really good carpet shampoo, or better a pre-spot, like 303's Carpet and Fabric Pre-Spot, then there is really no need for hot water. I instead use my extractor as a "rinse and extract" tool. Heavy duty see thru nozzle with metal not plastic hardware. Low in noise, in fact it is quieter than my wet/dry vac! I can carry on a conversation with my assistant while using the unit.

The power switch could of been placed in a more easy access place. It is located on the rear of the unit almost at the bottom which means you have to reach across the whole machine to turn on/off. It also lacks a hose clip but these are minor hang-ups. They do offer a cart which does have a place to hang the hose and nozzle.

I have included a few before and after pics. The first is of my truck seat which has some spilled Poorboys SSR2 that is about 3 days old. I sprayed it with the 303 and agitated the area with a brush then used the extractor. I do most of my carpets and upholstrey in this manner. Spray-dwell-agiate-extract. I rarely use carpet cleaning solution in my tank but instead clean clear water to rinse.

Thanks for review as I have looking at a couple of extractors myself and the striker was one of them. My 1st question would be: did you purchase from TOL? 2nd, TOL info says the hose is 96" which is 8', did you upgrade on the hose? And 3rd, How many amps does the striker draw? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hey,

Yes the hose is 8ft long but the power cord is 15ft.

I did get it from TOL and I am just guessing right now on the amps but I believe 15

Hey Scott,

The extractor is about 17in. long, 17 1/2in. tall and about 7in. wide.

There are only two pieces to the whole unit. The upper recovery tank and the lower solution tank which are locked into place.
