Is there a beefier version of a garden sprayer for mobile washing?
I remember seeing somebody on here using a small battery powered low pressure washer for mobile jobs. I just thought I'd check and see if anyone among us has any nifty machines for mobile washing purposes.
I have phased out major water use for everything except for my boat buffing services. The only reason I even have a big work van at this point is to carry water to clean up after compounding. It is a big waste of money for the use I get out of it. I'm wondering if there are any backpack type washers that are capable of rinsing the compounding dust off of boat decks during clean up. I currently prefer to use the pressure washer and all the dust comes right off. I would like to get rid of my work van and just use a small car to carry my equipment.
I do have a small pump up garden sprayer that I have not yet tried for this purpose. I usually use it with ONR to rinse out wheel wells/wheels/tires. I doubt it would have the flow rate needed to push the compounding dust from one side of the decks to the other, and chasing it to the drains. Is there a beefier, backpack type version of a garden sprayer, gas powered even? I have found some things on google but thought I'd check here.Andrew

There are some small battery powered units out there, but they are meant more for home/personal use. You wont get a ton of pressure or alot of uses before it breaks down. I would check your local home depot or lowes. Think the local home depot has a cheapie for around $100 if that's what your looking for.

If you own an air compressor, get ahold of Bud at Detail Plus, they have the stainless steel tanks that you fill with a solution or water, pressurize it, and have more stream, but not like a pressure washer, just works to get the water out, under a bit more pressure.
Probably as close as you are going to find.

My pressure washer is small, which is great for mobile purposes. Also it packs a punch and in the past 2 years has never let me down.

Re: Is there a beefier version of a garden sprayer for mobile washing?
All great suggestions here, I think my most likely candidate is the nomad unit. It's compact enough to carry up onto the decks of the big cruisers, and self contained with it's own water. The Walmart tip is great, thanks MichaelM! I will pick one up on my next trip across the border, as Canada Walmart doesn't carry it.
Thanks for the input everybody!Andrew

I read what the spec's are, and notice that they are very careful to state, "for the enthusist" use.
This thing and the spec's, when carefully read, doubt it would be the best thing for someone who uses it on a few times a week basis.
I could be wrong and I often have been, just don't care for all the "do's and don'ts" that are in the sales pitch.
