Like you mentioned . . . . . i might just have to test them both out and see what fits into place and what i can offer in terms of finishing down, time and price.

Might have to place a order soon.

What's the pad of choice now days? I have only been using CCS but i have been hearing so much about flat pads i think i'm going to make the switch to either just LC Flats or the Hydro Tech pads.

Wanted to try the Uber pads but some say the foam isn't that great.

One last thing. SCOTT or IVAN . . . . how would you go about cleaning the wax applicators (orange meguiars type).
Well I probably work more hours sometimes but it is the 'side' job haha.

As for pads, I use Meguiar's old flat pads, 8006 and 9006, and LC flat pads. For rotary, 90% of the time it's 6.5" pads, and the other 10% is 4" or 5.5" LC pads for
tighter areas like bumpers, back of trunks, etc.... Sometimes I'll use 3" pads for isolated deep scratches. On the PC I use 5.5" pads 99.9% of the time, unless I need something smaller for correction where I don't feel safe using a rotary (usually concave surfaces on some of the rarer Porsches, etc.)

I do have some CCS pads and use them on occasion but definitely prefer flat pads over anything.

excellent that is the samething that my buddy just told me. He will never use CCS pads again.

I would like to get some smaller pads for my makita for smaller areas like you mentioned. Maybe some 4" pads but then comes the part in figuring out what backing to run with. I was thinking of trying out the gloss it back plate but still am a little un-decided on that.

6.5" pads seem to be my go to size right now but that could change in the future or not.

I need to get a Flex or a new PC for some things. I had the older PC but sold it as i never used it. Now i wish i had it.

I use a Meg's W66 backing plate for rotary with 6.5" pads and just a regular LC backing plate (I think 3" or 3.75") for 4" pads. I have another that's a little under 3" for 3" pads.

Re: Economy & Business

wow megs got some nice plates. I always thought they were a lot more expensive.

I'm taking a liking to the Meguiars W64 5" Rotary backing plate but the thing is they recommend you use that with a 6.5" Pad

I like the idea of the foam between the backing plate and the pad idea . . . . . i think i'll be picking up the Meg's W66 as well. Thanks Ivan.
