Just a bright dynamics update for everyone

I've had quite a few people ask me now if I got all moved in yet and how things are treating me. I am officially in Greenville SC now. Got down here last week. I've already had a number of calls and made a couple of appointments. I worked a deal with a local business that does mobile detailing to a lot of the dealerships around here to train their guys. I start that tomorrow and from talking with the owner and seeing a few of their set ups I have my work cut out for me. I will be focusing on detailing on the weekends until I find a suitable location (or a suitable mobile set up)

I must say though things are so much nicer down here. The weather is obvious but the people down here are probably some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. Just a world of difference from what I'm used to. There's a real sense of community pride here as well. I really think I made a great move coming here.

And I am currently completely redoing my website. The old site is still up. for the time being. I think only the email contact is still good if anyone is trying to contact me through there. I will let everyone know when I launch the new site. Hopefully it won't take to long but I want it just right so I'm not rushing it either.

Jake - Glad you're happy with your move. What's the detailing scene like down there? Mostly mobile, shops, or car washes? What's the going rate for detailing? Can you see a need/demand for high end detailing there?

Dave the sceen here is interesting at best. There's a demand for it. because all of the shops I've seen here are hole in the wall outfits. There are a lot of really nice cars in this area. And I'm getting calls from all over the state. Seems like there's a need for good detailers abound. I don't know about the customer's and what they are willing to pay for a professional job just yet. But I know the dealers pay more down here than they did up in michigan. Seems the average dealer prep is right around $140-$150 range. which is much better than the $80-$100 range I was able to get up there for volume work. But from what I've learned from the people that I've talked with there's is a growing demand for skilled detailers here. I've already heard my fair share of hack and slash stories. I have to fix one next weekend already. And when I went in to see how this group of guys I'm going to start training tomorrow was doing thing I about cringed. Luckily I have the owners full support on the matter. I get to bring in the tools and products I want them to use. And I get to say if I think they are going to make it or not. Which does help me breathe a little easier. Not everyone is cut out for detailing or even volume work. There are a couple of so called upscale shops people have mentioned. I plan on dropping in on some of these guys sometime this week to see how things are going with them.

And by the sounds of it guys you might have to wait a bit on insane interior turn outs LOL. So far it seems I have a lot of paint corrections to work on first. I'm sure I'll get that call though about some oddball interior request and if I can make it happen. Expect some write ups here soon.

Congrats on the move Jake. I'm a little north of you in Raleigh NC, but I manage to get down to SC a couple times a year. Good luck bud, maybe I'll see you next Spring when we take a break and head for Myrtle.
