Re: Inspirational Detailers

It is hard for me to list who has influenced or inspired me without leaving people off. However, that being said I also apologize by not knowing the real names, rather the user IDs. No slight intended)
1)Buffybarry: incredible turnarounds and I have a special liking of seeing rather ordinary vehicles getting a complete detail
2)Pampos: It has been great to see him excel in his business and perfect his work
3)Scottwax: Stellar work and it seems a consumate professional
4)Rydawg: Again tremendous work and always striving for perfection.
5)Apollo of Hungary: Great work , great write ups and it seems to be a great sense of humor
6)Todd Helms: impressive work. period
Finally, I am not sure if he is still on here, but Richard from Showcardetailing. I went to his site before Autopia and through that site found Autopia. Impressive writeups.

Re: Inspirational Detailers

in no real order - my top 5:

BufferBarry - Barry is helpful, has amazing turn arounds, and is not a POG

TSC17 - Todd has likely the best photography, has a beautiful artistic approach, and is still down to earth and willing to help folks while making entertaining posts.

Jakerooni - Bro your interior turn arounds, activism on the boards, willingness to learn/help, and love or detailing are second to none.

Apollo Auto - Jesse has humble fun write-ups that are highly entertaining and always full of eye candy. Great guy, knowledge, and awesome during photos

d00t - Aaron has the attention to detail that all detailers strive for. He's had a laid back smooth approach, and you can tell he puts his heart into his work

The above names are people I find to be highly professional, informative, humble, knowledgable, helpful, inspirational, and highly skilled. They represent a diverse crowd: all talented, and all masters of a different "detailing" area IMO. Maybe most of all - they're all very capable of creating "Epic / Legendary" threads if given the correct time allotment / vehicle (since most customers aren't going to pay for 30+hours of work and don't own the super exotics that seem to get all the love for whatever reason).

There are plenty more but these were the names that popped into my head first. I have love and respect for all detailers that don't just see this as a full or part-time job, but rather something they truly love and enjoy. Transforming a formerly beautiful car into a presently beautiful car takes a lot of hard work, trial and error, product knowledge, and technique knowledge.

Re: Inspirational Detailers

You want inspiration, don't leave out José Fernadez of Superior Shine! He does not post here much, but when he touches an object(car, truck, bus, plane, semi......) perfection is soon to follow.

Re: Inspirational Detailers

Thank you to those who included me in your list. It's always nice to get some recognition from one's peers. To be included with some of the other incredibly talented detailers there is quite an honor. Thanks.

Some that have inspired me (in no order):

1. Rickrack (Rick Nelson). This guy has seriously mad skills, and he's always been there to lend some advice. When I need help, he's the guy I call. A true professional!
2. Todd Helme. There are many out there with great detailing skills, but Todd always set the bar for marketing himself and his business. His write ups were always thorough and educational.
3. Rydawg. Insane skills, and a ton of knowledge. When Ryan speaks, it's wise to listen and learn.
4. Scottwax. I still can't figure out how he cranks out so much great work, in such little time, out of the back of that little car! And he's always willing to share his knowledge.
5. Bufferbarry. The king of sanding! He's paid his dues for a long time, and his business is about ready to skyrocket. There's a bright outlook in Barry's future.
6. DSMS. Not only does Dave have incredible detailing skills, photo skills, and great writing skills as well, but he's a teenager!! I can tell with his passion that he is going to be quite successful in his life regardless of what he does...he has "it".

There are many others out there that I feel are inspirations to all of us in some form or another, so if you're one who takes the time to help others out, remains professional at all times, produces tremendous work, or puts a lot of time, effort, and passion into write-ups then I thank you.

Re: Inspirational Detailers

Thank you boys.

I learned to just do what works for me and not what works for everybody else.

To many people for me to name. Most notably Bob Willis (AutoConcierge) after working with him on several tough corrections I can say he is the real deal both in a high skill and professional level.

Re: Inspirational Detailers

I have no particular inspiration

Because I look at the passion and hard work that alot of the pro detailers on here post. And its amazing. I always felt a true passion for the detailing world. And always started or hoped to start a business. The more I talk to the Pros around here It keeps that Idea tumbling in my head.

But the guy that inspires me the most on the site all together is DaveB. Dave put together this site on the entusiast side of the street. Anyone who loves detailng vehicles that much to create a website/howto and a forum is truly inspiring in my book.
