Putting the NAPDR (Detailers Association) on BLAST!!

I am not one to get upset about much, but when it comes to an investment where you feel like you are getting taken, then that can be another story.

On May 10th, 2009 I decided to join the NAPDR (Detailers Association) in hopes that it would provide my business with critical industry news, a solid network of industry professionals, and lastly another business base. The problem is that after I joined, I have gotten no correspondence (a phone call, membership kit, ect.). I luckily got a response from an e-mail I sent from Tony Stubblefield on 6/1/09. However since then I have heard nothing.

For those who are members, is this organization something that is set up to just “take our money” or are there some benefits to being a member. Lastly does anyone have any other contact information so that I can get the “ball rolling” on getting what I paid for? Thanks.

Re: Putting the NAPDR (Detailers Association) on BLAST!!

Sorry about your luck there man... It sounded like nothing more than a scam from the first time I read about it. Pleanty of other organizations out there free of charge that actually do inform people and communicate. You're not the first to bring this up by any means. Seems they've pulled the wool over quite a few peoples heads.

Have you tried looking around on Mobileworks? Alot of members are on there and can point you in the right direction. Otherwise sorry to hear the lack of correspondence.

I've yet to see a detailing organization live up to the promises they make.

Re: Putting the NAPDR (Detailers Association) on BLAST!!

I've always been a bit skeptical of "Associations" in general that require fees for membership rather than fees for events (require you to pay membership so that you can get access to events you have to pay fees to attend??), etc.

That's an understatement.

Re: Putting the NAPDR (Detailers Association) on BLAST!!

Update:

From what I have learned the NAPDR is no longer in operation., but their website still will take your money, if you want to give it to them (I am assuming).

Luckily the IDA, here is the thread(International Detailing Association) has steped in and is giving free memeberships to those that were in the NAPDR.

Lesson learned the hard way. However someone picked up the ball so I will just go with it. I hope the IDA has the strenght to stay around and fulfill its vision.
