Re: Mobile detailing?

Quite a few guys, including myself, work out of the trunk of a car. I have a garage, though and I split time between the two.

Re: Mobile detailing?

I work out of the trunk of my car as well.
I drive a VW Jetta with two subs in the trunk as well and I still have room to carry everything I need. Although I admit, I have been looking recently to get a new vehicle with a hatch back or something for more carrying space.

I work out of a 3 series coupe. Bucket goes in the back with soap + apc bottles + wheel cleaner in it. Rubbermaid tote with everything else goes beside it. Extensions and rotary go in front of truck and halogen tree sits on top of that. Microfiber + pads go in rear seats.

Re: Mobile detailing?

I'll try to get a couple pictures tomorrow. Using ONR as my washing method really helps me save space. Plus my Maxima gets a lot better mileage than most trucks or SUVs get.

Re: Mobile detailing?

Scottwax I just started using ONR due to water restrictions but I love this stuff and will continue to use it.

Re: Mobile detailing?

Do you guys use a shop vac as an extractor as well to help shampoo carpets? Or do you have something like a LGM?

Re: Mobile detailing?

You can get a big bin at almost any big box store and keep all your supplies in that. If you need to bring your own water you could buy some 5 gallon buckets that have tops on them. Sometimes people don’t have a hose hookup so bringing the water is a must.

When I was mobile I had
2 big bins for supplies ( one for clean and one for dirty )
3or4 buckets of water
1 detail bag for rotary and pads
1 garden hose
3 very long extension cords
1 shop vac

And I’m sure I’m missing something. But I made it all fit into every car I had at the time.
