LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
I dont care new or used, if your not in a good location then you really are hurting your business. I see some people say that it does not matter where you are, if you are good people will come to you. What i have the say to that is "bull$hit"
People do not want to drive 30 minutes to go and get a wash or a detail, yes you may have some customers that dont mind but others do. Look for a local area with a lot of traffic. You will get the drive in for a quick wash and get some detail jobs from it as they look at other cars you are detailing while they wait.
I know some people may disagree with me, but this is what i think you should look into before you find a place.

I'd have to agree. Location is everything. And it seems to be the reputation around here, the crappier/messier the garage, the higher quality service/labor/product you get. The exhaust shop and this VW specialist my friend went to had a garage out of the ghetto, but did excellent work at a reasonable price.

location and appearancec are both a must. Can't be too far out of the way or else onone will come to you.

Your shop must also be very clean. Your cleaning cars. The shop really reflects how much you care about cleanliness.

If I had a large detail shop that was pullin alot of $$ i'd get a chasis and body of a flashy car (ferrai or somthin) and have it coming off the roof. just my style.
