Any ideas how can i remove light scratches that are so thin that you can't feel them but they make the chrome rims look almost mat at the point that they are??

Chrome is very hard. Chrome polishes usually are for removing corrosion and for brightening the chrome. Usually chrome polish will not remove scratches in the chrome.

In my experience the haziness/scratches are a sign of failing plating. The only thing to repair it is having them redone.
