Re: My new-to-me 2002 Maxima SE
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Looks great!
I'm particularly impressed at the improvement in the headlights, considering you did them by hand. This will motivate me to polish the lights on my wife's ML.

Great buy Scoot . Those Maximas with the VQ engine are one of the best . As always you did an awesome job on the paint .
Good to hear everything turn out OK for you .

Yes, it's Grey Lustre. The Lexus color you liked is Smoky Granite Mica - I know because I traded my Maxima for an IS350 in that very color. You have great taste!

Those really are nice cars and yours looks great. I had to laugh when I read you mention that it will spin the tires through first gear. Makes me think of my dad, when he looks at a new car the first thing he does is get away from the dealer and see how far it will spin the tires.

Actually, the tub rinsed out real clean. In fact, the area below the water line was cleaner than above it!
Frito Bandito-when I had my '71 Chevelle, my brother had a '71 Challenger and my Dad would tell people coming out to our house to look for the one with all the burnouts in front of it.

I think I gave my brother all the pictures of his Challenger. Nice car. 340, Stage II Comp Cam, dual plane intake (not sure which one), highly modified 3310 Holley, Hooker headers, built 727 with a 3200 stall and 4.56 gears. I think his best run was a 13 flat at 106, uncorked but on street tires.
My Chevelle had a .030 over 350, 292 Magnum Comp Cam, Holley Strip Dominator intake, Holley 4778 double pumper, crappy Blackjack headers, 041 fuelie heads with 3 angle valve job and port matching, built TH350 with a 4000 stall and 4.11s. Best run was a 12.84 at 108 mph in full street trim. Last time we raced, I took him by about 4 car lengths.
Sorry about the black and white, but I was taking photography in college at the time and was doing everything on Kodak Tri-X.
Oh yeah, this is the engine before the one above...kind of shot, eh?

Re: My new-to-me 2002 Maxima SE
Scott, I really like the idea of soaking the mats. Do you find that works better than using a high pressure hose or even a PW?

Worked better in this case because I didn't feel like driving down to the coin-op wash and then back home with wet mats.
I think either method works equally well, but pressure washing would be faster than letting the mats soak a few hours.
