2005 Bmw X3

This is a detail of a 2005 BMW X3 that I did today. I apologize in advance for the crappy pictures but the detail took me almost 8 hours and by the time I was done it was getting dark. Daylight savings time sucks. This thing was totally trashed paint wise and it really made me wonder how folks do details like this without a rotary. I did get the chance to try out some of the Menzerna polishes and I love them.

Process: Approx 7.5 hours Non Stop

Foam with Karcher Power Washer with NXT/Power Clean Mix then power wash
Wash via two bucket method and NXT soap
Wheels power washed and cleaned with Eagle One All Wheel and Tire
Inner rims cleaned with Poorboys Spray and Rinse
Wheel Wells powerwashed and cleaned with P21S Total Wash
Clay with Megs White Clay
Polish with Menzerna SIP via UDM and Orange Pad
Spot correct with PC and 4 inch orange pad
Polish with Menzerna 106FF via UDM and Sonus green pad
LSP=Polycharged Megs #21
Interior cleaned with APC 10/1
Vinyl dressed with Sonus Total Eclipse
Exterior Trim dressed with NXT Tech Protectorant
Wheel dressed with Megs ASD
Wheel wells dressed with Street Appeal Tire Dressing
Engine cleaned with P21S Total Wash and dressed with Stoners Trim Shine

The paint looked 100x's better and I wish the pictures came out better. I was able to remove about 90 % of the defects. I could have easily spent another 3 hours on the car.

The owner is taking delivery of a 2007 Audi R8 in January and has instructed the dealer not to touch it. Its a nice blue. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Not to be an A-hole but it looks like you missed some dirt at the top of the engine cover

Theres also some residue left on the rear bumper...

edit: There is also tire dressing on the thread of the tires...not sure how that will affect the grip or any but it does look messy...

Pardon the destructive criticism but I feel the need to point out these things as they detract from the otherwise nice car

It's a tan interior except the parts that tend to get dirty are gray...hey that makes sense in an SUV!

Nice work!

Trust me there was NO residue on the rear bumper. It must be a reflection in the picture or the crappy lighting. I appreciate your constructive criticism. I look forward to your Click and Brags...

I did miss some dirt on the top of the engine cover. Note: Don't detail in a garage with poor lighting

Nice work Pat! Wheres the "pile", lol.

As for the little missed areas of dirt... I'm sure that just about everyone here has forgot an area, missed some dirt, whatever. I'm sure it bugs you more than the owner who will probably never even notice

Looks great Pat! Sometimes after looking at pics, I see an area or two where I missed something.
