This Ferrari was detailed for the dealership I detail for. It's a 1998 with less than 3K miles. It has sat in a garage most its life and has hardy been driven. There was a 5 year stretch that it didn't get driven and basically collected dust through the years with unproper storage conditions.
The paint was covered with these tiny little black dots that were really difficult to remove from the paint. I had to use 3 clay bars, because whatever the black dots were, starting marring the paint when the claybar filled up with the contaminants. Most of the dots were on the top surfaces and were very stubborn to get off.
The paint had its share of holograms, spider webbing, swirl marks and buffer trails from a previous detail or the dealership, but there was no real bad damage to the paint besides a few light scratches and the slight marring from claying.
My process:
~Washed, cleaned wheels & tires
~Clayed complete exterior as well as all glass and wheels
~Rewashed
~Polished wheels with Zaino AIO, followed by a coat of Clear-Seal
~Buffed complete exterior with Hyper Compound x2 using a foam light cut pad @1800 rpm
~Buffed complete exterior with
Intensive Polish using a foam light cut pad @ 1500 rpm.
~Buffed complete exterior with
Final Polish II using a foam finishing pad
~Werkstatt's Prime by hand
~Hand applacation of Autotech Excite Paste Wax
~Hand application of Natty's Blue
~Wiped down with Aquawax
~Treated all exterior glass with Zaino AIO
~Tires and wheel wells dressed with Super Blue Dressing
Some of the pictures look really bleached out because my camera was on its way out (it finally died the other day!). All in all, it came out pretty well. Any questions, feel free to ask.
