Black 07' Escalade Detail

This detail was done for one of my retail customers which is also a personal friend of mine. He just bought it from the original owner and had it shipped to MA all the way from Florida. There were stains all over the hood from bird droppings and the front was completely covered in bugs which etched into the paint on the front bumper. It also had some light to medium scratches all over the paint. I had a clear-bra installation scheduled for the following day, so I spent a little more time on the areas that were going to be under the film.

It is going to be in and out of the shop because he is upgrading the brakes and a few other goodies, so I didn't go as nuts as I usually would have. I will probably be detailing it again in another month or so after everything is completed.

My process was:

Wash, clean wheels, tires and engine compartment.

Clayed complete exterior and washed again

Compounded bug etching on front bumper with Powergloss @1600 using a Burgundy Meguiars cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with Blackfire SRC Compound @ 1800 rpm using light cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with PO85RD @1400 RPM using a foam finishing pad

Hand application of Collinite Insulator Wax

Topped off with a coat of Natty's Blue

Exterior glass cleaned with Invisible Glass and sealed with Zaino Clear-Seal

True Blue Dressing on the tires and wheel wells

Wheels were polished with Wicked Metal Polish and sealed with Zaino Clear-Seal

It came out pretty well besides the few bird mess stains on the top of the hood which I will wetsand when I detail it again in another month or so.

It was a really weird day when I took the pictures, so some of the pictures look funky.

Oops, somehow I made a double post and had to delete one of them. Of course I deleted the one with the most comments by accident.
