Paint Correction - 1994 Black Supra

I just finished a paint correction on this 1994 black Supra. The car had you typical wash induced marring mixed with a bad case of acid rain spoting. After selling my detail business over 3 years ago, I still try to keep in the groove of things by detailing a select few specialty vehicles on the weekends. This one was one of the worst detailing experiences I've ever come accross in the way that it way so hot (nearly 100 degrees) and sunny along with this car being black. I developed a slight case of heat stroke after 4 hours into it and nearly gave up! Below are the before & afters. Enjoy!

Befores:

Durings: (test spot)
Step 1 - Lake Country White Cutting Wool with Auto Magic New Car Glaze:

Typical single stage paint tranfer onto pad:

Step 2 - EDGE Yellow Cutting Foam Pad with Auto Magic BC-2:

Afters: LSP = Auto Magic Wet Wax

Here's a few of the engine and interior - I just wiped things down and did a light vac:

Nice David,

I know what you mean about the heatstroke, I've come pretty close to passing out before. I can't imagine how hot it is now (I don't like to leave the air conditioning until October or so)

Re: Paint Correction - 1994 Black Supra

I took me about 7 hours. If I was doing it in my garage, I would have like to spend alot more time on it. When doing details off-site at someone's house, it's difficult to take breaks and come inside to get a bite to eat and relax. I'll know next time to pack a cooler with a lunch.

Beautiful detail. On a side note; The early-90's had some cool cars. The Supra, 3000 GT, Nissan 300, etc. What happened???

Wow, great work.

So did you use a wool pad with a glaze? or is a compound that calls itself a glaze?

Just curious, I've never seen that combo before.

Again, nice turnaround.

Josh

Yes, it's a glaze. It's Auto Magic's most agressive glaze/polish in fact. They also offers 4 different types of compounds too. I try to stay the heck away from them if possible.

Nice job David! Have you tried the "risk free system" yet?
