Titan, LX470, Cayenne Turbo, Durango
The rain continues here in north Texas. I had already vacuumed, cleaned and dressed the wheels and fenderwells and washed this 2004 Nissan Titan with Optimum No Rinse when what do I see? Rain clouds marching up from the south.
All I had left to do was wax and clean the glass. Busted out the Opti-Seal since it goes on so fast. The tailgate is already done in this shot.
Have to hurry now...
About 10 minutes later....done!
Finished just in time too...
I called my customer in advance to make sure he still wanted me to come out and he said his truck was so bad (it was!) he didn't care if it got rained on.
Lucky for him, it was around 3 PM when the rain rolled in and it never got very heavy and was over in 30 minutes. By 5 PM (when he leaves his office) the roads were already dry. Saw him today (Monday) when I detailed his office manager's Durango and he said there were still water beads on his truck when he left but they flew off his truck when he got on the freeway and when he got home, the truck looked clean.
============
2005 Dodge Durango. The owner of the Nissan decided to have this done for his office manager. He gave me a set price and said to do what I could for the amount he was willing to spend. After seeing all the dust, gravel, etc inside (she lives out in the country and rides horses), I focused on the interior (pics are on the new roll in my camera) and just ONR washed the exterior and one-stepped it with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC CCS polishing pad. Tires and trim got Nascar Tire Shine because it is on sale at Big Lots, $3 for a 23 oz bottle! Works pretty good too, a touch more shine the Armor All.
I was out at the office (actually, a medical center) all day detailing the Durango and washing a VW New Beetle and was finishing up the Durango as most of the staff was leaving. One lady said as she was leaving "we've been watching you all day, admiring your work". Made me feel pretty good.

u know scott, its funny u show the clouds . . . im out here in cali, just spent 2 hours detailing my bike today, then rode it to my usual dart night at the bar, and was interupted by my buddy who said, hey man . . . you better get home.
it started to rain. it was 90 degrees here in san jose today, and at 1 am, it rained. its just so silly.

Re: Titan, LX470, Cayenne Turbo, Durango
Amazing work as always!! I actually saw a customer this weekend who's Expedition I did not too long ago. The husband drives a Cayenne that's that champagne color that is so hard to make look good. I noticed them because there was a styrofoam cup with a straw sticking out of it riding on top of the Porsche. I walked up, before they could realize who was talking, and said "Ya know.....stuff like this would drive your detailer crazy!!" They laughed and said that they had no idea how it got on there! Funny stuff...

Great work as always Scott! The Lexus and the Porsche are amazing! The Titan looks great considering the conditions you had to work in. We've been getting a lot of that down here as well unfortunately.

That Durango looks unreal, I looked at that picture for around 2 minutes gawking at it, thats how red should look! That Porsche never ceases to amaze me to, the black looks awsome. Great work as usual Scott.
