Black Excursion with a 24' black enclosed trailer, G35 coupe
One of my regulars (posted his Harley recently) and a friend went in on a 2000 V10 Excursion and a 24' enclosed trailer to take their Harleys around with them. The back end of the trailer had a mural painted on it in mid June and the guy who did the work suggested them keep the trailer well waxed if it is going to sit outside (it is). They figured I might as well wax the Excursion too.
The goal was not absolute perfection but to polish out minor defects in the Excursion and some water spots and streaks in the trailer and have both protected. I qouted them a 1 step price and a 2 step price. They opted for the 1 step this time and said they wanted it done every 2-3 months and a polish and a heavy coat of wax going into winter. Works for me! Regular attention will only make it look better and better and my job easier each time.
Anyway, it wasn't too bad, considering the Excursion is 7 years old. Not nearly as dirty as everything I've been cleaning lately (due to the nearly non-stop afternoon storms), I guess because it isn't driven often. Plus, the dealer they bought the Excursion from apparently can wax a vehicle without swirling it...but apparently didn't do anything to the roof! Tookj me about 5 1/2 hours this time, probably go a little quicker next time, add another two hours when I two step it before winter.
I used Optimum Poli-Seal with green Edge Cyclo polishing pads. The right side is polished already, the left side untouched. You can see the streaks in the paint running down the left side.
All polished. Plus the sun was a little brighter in this shot.
Both the trailer and Excursion got the Poli-Seal/green Edge pad combo, really did a nice job cleaning up the Excursion's paint, even the roof! Since the mural on the back of the trailer was painted in mid-June, one of the guys called the paint shop to be sure it was okay that I waxed it. He said waxing was fine but nothing abrasive so I used Opti-Seal on the mural area only.
Really fun day, low 90s by afternoon on blacktop, the sun came out, and the humidity was over 50%. We'll be paying for all this rain in increased humidity all summer.

top work as always.
Shame the panels are so wavy on the trailer, it would have looked awesome flat!

Both vehicles & the trailer look GREAT!
You said that the Excursion took 5.5 hours. Was that just an exterior job only? Also, do you normally clay a car before polishing or waxing (just curious)?

Excursion and trailer......."That's a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge #!&ch" Looks great!
The G35 I believe is a 2003 Desert Platinum which I think they only made in 2003. I don't recall if they carried that color over in 2004. 2005's were slightly different and 2006's have projector lights, slightly different front fascia, and cropped rear spoiler and different tail lights.
G looks really nice! Is she a milf? Love when chicks drive stick!
