Dodge Dakota

This belongs to a good friends son. He had attempted to get something off of his paint in a few spots with the scratchy side of a sponge...... I took a look and told him that I would be more than happy to give it a shot! They dropped it off Friday night so that I could get started on it early Saturday morning.

Now I haven't made the jump to rotary yet but this one almost made me take the leap. I tried OP, OC, XMT4, SSR2.5 and nothing was touching these spots. They were really deep. I called the kids dad and told him that I wasn't sure there was anything I could do but that I would keep trying. But......barring any miracles I would probably need the car overnight. As I hung up the phone I scanned over my shelf of polishes and saw that I had purchased some SIP that I had forgotten about. I loaded up and yeloow CCS with some and went to work. It took some work but it eventually got 99% of the scratches out and, when I followed up with 106FF I was VERY happy with the results!

He only wanted me to do an exterior only but, seeing as how I was going to have it overnight anyway, and the fact that this kid (other than his car detailing skills) is probably my favorite kid of all time, made me want to take care of him. So I ended up doing a quick interior and detailing out the engine as well. Process and pics to follow:

Wash w/Dawn
Clay w/Megs Clay (I hate this stuff.....no where near aggressive enough)
Polish w/SIP and yellow CCS
Finish w/106FF and orange CCS
KAIO w/white CCS
Topped w/ #16

Interior:
vaccuum seats and carpet
clean carpet w/APC
Spot cleaned w/FOLEX
dress dash and door w/DP Protectant

Glass:
Clean w/IG
Polish windshield w/Diamondite System

Wheels and wells:
Cleaned wells with Megs DG
Dressed w/Megs Endurance Gel
Cleaned rims Mothers Chrome Polish and waxed w/AW
Tires dressed w/Megs Hot Shine

I know that this could have been better, but I can get the truck from him again to finish.
