This one was pretty rough in terms of swirls, otherwise everything went smoothly (as everything has since I have been using the Pro
Menzerna polishes). This car is sweet, with a certified 384 hp at the rearwheels courtesy of a Pro Charger, custom suspension and monster breaks as well as a body kit.
The owner had gotten some water etchings and figured now was a good time to have some of the swirls removed. The car was just washed a couple days before, so all I had to give it a quick wipe down with
Meguiars' Last Touch #34 before I pulled it out and took some photo's.
Here are some pictures in the sun.
Same angle but with a faster shutter, I think this picture shows off the marring a little better.
I pulled the car in the garage and taped off a section of the hood. I tried a couple different polished but I settled on
Menzerna SIP 83 on the
rotary at 1800 rpms with an
Lake Country 7.25' CCSorange pad followed by
Menzerna 106ff on the [b]rotary[/B at 1000 rpms with
Lake Country 7.25" CCS white pad. I only had time for 1 pass of each, though I may have gotten a little better correction with two passes of the SIP in certain, rougher areas.
I pulled the Infinti outside to check the untouched areas vs the test area. I left the camera on UV light so the pics came out a little wierd, color wise but you get the idea.
Unpolished section
After
I made my way around the car, polished first with the SIP then following back around with 106ff.
Working around the car....
I then wiped the car down with IPA/water then hand applied
Zaino AIO.
I let the
Zaino AIO dry to haze and wiped off. This was followed by a
Zaino Z6 wipedown and a hand applied coat of
Zaino Z2pro. This was followed by
Zaino Clear Seal and a final wipe with
Zaino Z8.
After pics....
