Es300, Mdx, Amg Sl55, X5

Pretty easy stuff this time. This 2000 Lexus ES300 is my Mom's and this was her Mother's Day/Birthday gift. It is what she wants each year and my Dad does an excellent job taking care of it in between, making it a pretty easy job for me.

I took some pics using my Dad's halogen light, this is the paint before. Like I said, my Dad knows how to keep a car up.

This is the only after that turned out remotely good.

I polished it with Optimum Poli-Seal using green Edge Cyclo polishing pads and sealed it with two coats of Opti-Seal. Only 3 outside shots, within seconds of pulling it out of the garage, it started raining...like it has pretty much done for 6 weeks straight now.

2004 Acura MDX. I normally wax it every 2 months because he runs it through the touchless at a gas station 3-6 times a week depending on the weather. By the time we got a couple halfway decent days in a row so I could wax it and it would look decent for at least a little bit, it had been nearly 4 months since it was last sealed. I had used my 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax in late Feburary and he commented on how well it held up through all the rain we've had and all the trips through the touchless washes. The paint was still pretty swirl free, so I decided to go with 2 coats of Opti-Seal this time. He was quite happy with how wet it looked, in fact, he said it was the best his MDX had ever looked.

The sun was in and out while taking the pictures so some have sun, some don't.

Got flake?

2003 BMW X5 and 2004 Mercedes AMG SL55. I last did these two in March. Zaino Z5 on the X5 and Opti-Seal on the SL55. Both held up very well, slickness of both was very good. Appearance held up too.

Both will get deep polished again this fall so this was just for protection this time. I decided to two step seal them using each product lines respective sealant and spray sealant/wax.

Z5 Pro and Z8 on the X5:

Opti-Seal and Optimum Car Wax (new version I am testing) on the SL55:

My Dad actually washed it the day before in the rain to get the bugs off it from a road trip. I also taught him how to use ONR so he uses that on both his cars too.

You are right, the MDX really looks wet, and the SL55 looks stunning!

I, too am seeing nice durability out of Opti-Seal, even though I am only at one month, it still looks great and beads well during a conventional wash.

Great work!

Re: Es300, Mdx, Amg Sl55, X5

Beautiful work on all those ride's! The X5 and Merc look fantastic! I'm using ONR in the shop to remove compound dust before I glaze. Works great and is easy and quick. After glazing, I power wash to get excess out of body seams. But the ONR really helps because of the abrasiveness of compound dust.

See Ya Around Scott!
