Corvette lovers, come on in. C6 Caravaggio 427 TT

Cars like this convince my that I have one of the coolest jobs in the world (other than then owning such a work of art). This was on of the cleanest and nicest Corvette's I have worked on (and luckily for myself, I have worked on a lot of nice ones). This one will stand out in my mind for a while.

The car is going into the body shop to have a little work down on some areas and also getting a new hood soon, so I didn't want to polish the paint out or over do my process, only because it would be unfair to charge the owner for detailed processes that would be meaningless after the car roles out of the body shop (at which point it I hope to give it a full Zaino work up).

This Corvette has a full Caravaggio body kit with carbon fiber accents, huge Caravaggio brakes, and a full race suspension. It has a carbon clutch that I could barely get to the floor (like doing leg presses) and everything is done right.

Next Level Performance did an amazing job with the motor, which displaces 427 cid and is pushing over 700 to the rear wheels, in "mild" forum with low boost. 800 is no problem, and the car is scheduled to have bigger turbo's installed in August with cut outs that will push it north of 850. This thing was done so well inside and out. The inside featured custom leather with white stiching (think Ferrari) and carbon fiber accents through out. If anybody is in Florida with a Corvette and itching for more power, I highly suggest you guys check them out (hell even if your not in Florida) the work is TOP NOTCH and Geoff is one of the nicest, down to earth people.

General Process

Wash with Meg's HyperwashX2, Zaino Z7
Meg's Hypersolvent on tar
Clayed with Zaino Z18 clay system
Meg's Quik Detailer on all interior surfaces
Stoner's IG on glass, topped with Zaino AIO

Paint Polishing/LSP

Menzerna FPII @ 1200 RPM with Meg's finishing pad
Zaino-AIO via hand
Meg's #26 topper

This was my third car today, and I was running late, so I couldn't take any process pictures. Here is the only before, the owner tracks this car at Sebring, and if anybody has ever washed a race car, you know how bad they are.

I actually had to wash the car twice to remove the grime, which left me with a lot of rubber and tar over the car. I ended up spraying the lower panels with Meg's Bodysolvent and wiping clean, before rewashing for the third and final time with Zaino Z7.

My only before

In Next Level Performance's shop after being polished and getting a coat of AIO.

The rims where fithly from the tracking, but washing them three times did a great job of cleaning them up. Look at the pizza pie sized rotars and huge calipers. This thing is awesome!

It took me ten mintues to clean all the road track gunk and filth that have accumulated in the crevices of the Caravaggio logo with soap and a Q-TIP. Damn track cars!

The under part of the exhaust tips and carbonfiber belly where covered in old rubber and track grim. My back is gonna be sore from the positions I needed to get into the clean all of this, I think I am now a level 14 yoga master (I do feel more limber)

Very nice work Todd!

I have done a few trackcars and know what a PITA the rubber, tar and grime are to remove.

Another excellent job Todd! You are now the detail master of Orlando area! Great write up and awesome detail!

I had the same rubber tar issues with a red one that I did a few weeks ago and it has extreme tar and rubber all over it. Behind the rear tires were the worst. I used a body shop solvent and it removed it nicely.

Your new camera is taking very nice pictures too
