Acura RDX, F-150, 325ci, Sebring

2007 Acura RDX. Only a couple weeks old, owner decided to pass on letting the dealer touch the finish. Really heavy storms in the morning, I wasn't even sure I was going to get to it but it cleared up nicely by afternoon so it was a go. I really like this SUV. About the size of a Cayenne and 260 hp.

I used Optimum Poli-Seal and a white LC CCS polishing pad, followed by Opti-Seal. Wheels and exhaust tips were polished and protected with Wheel Wax.

Re: Acura RDX, F-150, 325ci, Sebring

2005 Ford F-150, 2001 BMW 325ci and a 2005 Chrysler Sebring. I do some one-step exterior details for a recruiting company. The owners use the (as they call them) "mini-details" as a prize for top performing employees.

Here they are waiting to be cleaned:

I used Optimum Poli-Seal applied using a white LC CCS polishing pad.

The F-150's paint felt very dry, no beading at all on the horizontal surfaces and it needs to be clayed but the company doesn't pay me for that and he had a doctor's appointment so he said he'd call me in a few months to go nuts on his truck. I come to find out the owner had paid $130 for a detail shop to detail it 2 months before. After seeing how his truck look when I finished he said that shop would never touch his truck again.

Notice I even dressed the frame rails...

2001 BMW 325ci. This car is always tough. It has been in 4 accidents now and every panel on the car has now been repainted. Some well, some not. The hood is chipping up really bad. I do what I can one-stepping it. The owner is considering paying me to come back out and really go to town on it. Much improved just using Poli-Seal though...which, btw, worked very well on an upper 80 degree day in the sun.

I was playing around with the exposure, trying to cut down on the contrast when I shot this car. Didn't work out that great in the first two pics...

The sun popped out for the last two pics, notice how chipped the hood is.

2005 Chrysler Sebring. The owner has had it a little more than a year. Just based on the interior, it appears she's allowed homeless people to live in for the last 20 years. Not only that but she has a leak somewhere that lets water in every time it rains...and it rained 21 out of 31 days this month. The interior reeks of mildew. Every time I opened a door and caught a wiff, I felt queasy. Took a good 30 minutes to vacuum up the old food, debris, dog hair, etc. The owners of the business are out of town this week but I'm going to let them know I'll have to charge more for the Sebring if I have to vacuum it next time.

The outside wasn't too bad, other than the trunk lid had some scrapes from stuff being set on it and dragged off.

Scott what kind of benefits did/do you see from topping PoliSeal with OptiSeal (on the RDX or in general)?

Wow, great job. Both the Sebring's and F150's red paint really pop!

All look great Scott! Poliseal does a really good job with a white LC pad. It always impresses me.

The flake is crazy on the RDX!

Sebring owner must work so hard that she can't clean her car or take it to the dealer to get the leak fixed That is just nasty that she can drive it like that.

Very nice job, Scott! I agree with the Poli-seal on high temps. I used it a couple of days ago with around mid-80's temps and it worked beautiful! Def. a must have for me!

Some cars look awful with a front license plate, this is one of them:
