Horrifying interior filth (semi), Z06, 335 coupe
I got a call from a regular who owns a shipping company. His old driver had quit and he had a new one starting in a few days and wanted the interior of the sleeper semi truck cab cleaned. He warned me in advance it was filthy and it smelled. Normally, I'd probably turn something like that down but we've had 9 rain free days this month. That's right, 9 out of 28.
I was already running late when I got there. I had a tire blow out on my way to my first customer's house and had to change it in the pouring rain....even worse it was a front tire and I have traction control and the space saver spare messes everything up so I had to pull the rear tire, put the donut there and the rear tire up front. Luckily, there was a Discount Tire about 8 miles away so I went there to get the tire repaired or replaced. Luckily, I caught them during a slow time and while the tire needed to be replaced, I had bought the certificates so I got a new tire for the price of a new certificate... $15.50! Even better, the original tire had maybe 30% tread life left anyway. So anyway, by that point, I was 90 minute behind the rest of the day.
I pull up to do the semi interior and it is pulled under a large overhang at the loading dock and it was well lit, good thing too, since it was already after 5 PM. I open the door of the truck and the stench of locker room and stale cigarettes almost knocked me off the gas tank.
Besides the stench, this is what I had waiting for me:
A couple shots during...
The vinyl was cleaned with Woolite/water, the seats with BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner (still damp in the pics-much improved but not perfect) and the vinyl protected with Optimum Protectant Plus.
By the time I finished, it was after 9 PM and it seemed like the truck's stench was transfered to me. I could hardly wait to get home and shower. I get to my street and the traffic light is out...and I slowly look around and the entire street and all the houses and apartments are completely dark. I get home and the power has been off long enough the electric hot water heater no longer contains any hot water. I had to take an ice cold shower using the headlight from my road bike (1200 candlepower LED!) so I could see. What a day.

Wow Scott, rough day. Great turnaround on the interior though!
I hope June treats you better!

Re: Horrifying interior filth (semi), Z06, 335 coupe
2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. Polished it out early this month, waxed it a couple weeks ago using Carnauba Moose buffed off with a 50/50 blend of Optimum Car Wax and Werkstatt's Carnabua Jett. As usual, he wanted it waxed again. I pretty much wax this Corvette every two weeks, varying the carnauba I use. The depth after several coats of various carnaubas is astonishing! This time I opted to use the new test version of Optimum Car Wax. Durability is supposed to be better but on this car, it won't matter. What does matter is how well it matches up against the carnabua already on the car and how streak free I could apply it. The new OCW added some wetness to the appearance and went on and off virtually streak free, pretty much QD easy.
================
2007 BMW 335 coupe. Brand spanking new car, had only 200 miles on it and the owner had already debadged it. Only needed light claying (using Mother's Clay) on the horizontal surfaces. I polished it with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC CCS polishing pad and sealed with Opti-Seal. As you can see in the after pics, it rained (today, Memorial Day) but stopped long enough to take some pictures. The owner took some as well with his digital Nikon, when he sends them to me, I'll post them in this thread.
Yes, my car is every bit as filthy as it appears in the background of some of the pictures.

I use anywhere from 6 parts water to 1 part Woolite for heavy cleaning to 10:1 for lighter duty cleaning. I mix it up in a spray bottle, spray, scrub with a small, nylon bristle brush and wipe dry. Repeat as needed. The floor of the truck needed it 2-4 times in all areas.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen or imagined an interior that nasty.
Overwhelming!
You made it look 1000% better (maybe more). Great job!
Did you burn your cloths after that job? (LOL)

On top of that trip to come to that interior must have been horrible. Nice job on all 3 though.
