Chevy Aveo

Hey guys,

I had mentioned this detail earlier as something I was doing as a trade credit for my negihbor building me an accounting program and building and hosting my website. So here it is. The paint was fine, very rough to the touch but not as swirly as I thought it might be. He had asked me before about removing the flames on the side and I told him that I would do it for $50 and throw a quick one step polish on it to remove any ghosting that might have oocured.

After I clayed the car I had him feel the difference. He asked..."So...that's all you have to do to it"?

One thing led to another, the "autopian" in my took over and here is what I ended up doing.

Removed flames simply by pulling them off. The sun had loosened the adhesive and they came right off with no trouble at all.
Wash w/ Dawn
Clay all paint and glass
Degrease, clean and dress tires and hubcaps
Polished with OP and orange LC pad
Fnishing polish w/ KAIO and white CCS pad
1 coat of DG PBA
1 coat of DG #105
1 coat of DG AW
Interior was cleaned w/ Megs APC
Dressed w/ Megs HD
Vaccumed
Door jams wiped down with APC and followed w/ AW

As always with silver it's really hard to see the difference but, in person, it almost looksl ike a completely different car. They were/are very happy with it!!

Re: Chevy Aveo

Looks great, it really is like "new"!!

You might be able to drop the AIO as the PBA is a paintwork cleaner and KAIO doesnt have any abbrasives.

Re: Chevy Aveo

Thanks guys!! It is a totally different car in person.

I used the AIO because I like the way it feels after it's been put on. I really like how "clean" the paint feels.

Re: Chevy Aveo

Very nice job, the paint looks really wet and glossy in the after shots.

Those flames though....

Re: Chevy Aveo

He wasn't that thrilled with them either but his daughter, the one he originally bought the car for, thought they were cool. Live and learn I guess. I used to think that Big Bell Levi's were cool....not so much anymore!! But DAMN did I look good back then!! LOL!!

Re: Chevy Aveo

I can see a ton of improvement which is doing something with silver. You should have one happy neighbor. Great job.

Re: Chevy Aveo

Nice job Mose..totally different car..nice look on the paint...1000%better with losing the flames..

I started using the DG 101 last year as a AIO and then topping with 105..the 101 cleans way better than AIO and leaves a great wet look also..it actually has micro abrasives and gives a nice finish polished look.....and 105 bonds great to it according to DG..
