'05 Ford GT, '02 Mercedes S55, a few more of that WRX-STI, + a coming attraction!

2005 Subaru WRX-STI. Continuation of this thread: http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/...vs-pollen.html

============

2002 Mercedes S55. Excellent condition, only has 20,000 miles on it. I deep polished it a year ago and it is still very much swirl free. Just went over it with Poorboy's Polish w/Sealant using a white LC polishing pad and topped with Optimum's Opti-Seal.

This is about as much sun as I had while taking the pics....you can barely see the sun spot peaking through the clouds on the hood.

2005 Ford GT. Same owner as the S55, same process on the paint. No need for any deep polishing, lucky me!

I took a few shots in the warehouse, not sure if he would have time to move it out for pics, but when he returned from lunch, he said he could.

Outside shots. The sun cooperated and came out for a few seconds...been like this for several days now.

===============

Preview of a car that wasn't in such good shape:

1999 Mercedes C230 Kompressor. Owned by the proverbial little old lady...who apparently wasn't the cleanest person ever. The paint was so chalky looking in a few areas I thought it was single stage white! The new owner got it in an estate sale and wanted it cleaned up for sale.

More before and after pics when I finish the roll of film in my camera.

Nice job, love that Ford GT, at least you got a glimps of the sun, weather has been gloomy lately when I get a car to do.

Scott what camera are you using?? seems to be a lot of light in your pics and makes them looks very bright, I'm sure it doesn't do your work justice. (sorry don't mean to be a critic and all)

Nikon N60 35mm SLR. I've been playing around with exposure settings since I got it trying to find what works best for each lighting situation. Either a dark or a light car filling most of the frame seems to confuse the matrix metering and either over-exposes the background while shooting dark cars, or over-exposing the car if it is light in color. My last cameras were all manual exposure and I could split the difference between the subject and background but I can't get the manual mode to work properly on this camera. Maybe I will take advantage of an ugly day and head down to Arlington Camera and see if they can help me out.

I was going to comment on the EXACT SAME thing. Your pictures are definitely over exposed. They loose defnition on lighter colors like silver and white. It isn't showing your true work and it makes the surrounding looks gloomy instead of sunny. If you notice though, the ones inside look perfect.

Are you changing the white balance settings between the inside and outside?

Yeah, the auto setting on that camera is definitely not working. Getting some help with the manual settings should work wonders.

The details look completely awesome though. Great work as usual.

The C230 posted under the Ford GT.

The mats were so bad, he bought new ones so I took the old ones to test carpet cleaners on.

One of the pictures of the GT is the wettest white I've ever seen.
