Scion tC, F150, Accord interior, CL500, my car fresh out of the bodyshop

1998 Mercedes CL500. I polished it with Poorboy's Polish w/Sealant and topped with EX-P 4 weeks ago. He ran it through a tunnel wash a week ago and I washed it with Optimum No Rinse today. Still very slick, even before washing with ONR and appearance is holding up very well. Just a couple quick shots of it after ONR:

============

2002 Honda Accord. It was supposed to be a full detail (gift certificate from her parents) but with the expected rainy start to the weekend (weather guessers were wrong though... ) she decided to just get the interior done for now and wait for better weather to get the exterior done. I cleaned it with Woolite/water and dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus. I had to use flash when taking the pic on the driver's side but not on the passenger side, so that is why the exposure/color doesn't match.

=============

2005 Ford F-150. Regular monthly customer. I wash and wax his black Z06 each time and the truck about every 3rd or 4th time. I had last polished and waxed it back in September (Optimum Polish, 80/20 blend of #16/PW) and it didn't need any polishing this time so I waxed it with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. Pics are a bit dark, it was about 20 minutes before sunset.

Re: Scion tC, F150, Accord interior, CL500, my car fresh out of the bodyshop

2006 Scion tC. The owner contacted me after taking it to a tunnel wash and seeing what looked like swirls all over the car. When I pulled it out, I realized that although it had some like spider swirls, most of what he saw were drying streaks. Pulled it back into his garage and out of the cold wind and showed him how to wash it with Optimum No Rinse. We then pulled it back out into the sun and voila! All the drying streaks were gone.

Like I mentioned, it had light cobwebbing...light enough a test section using Optimum Poli-Seal and a white LC polishing pad via PC was enough to remove 95%+ of them. I then went over the whole car with Poli-Seal and topped with my 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax. By the time I had finished, the sun was shining brightly off the concrete and this being a new complex, had no shade trees to put the car under for better pics, so I had to take them in the full sun, and the paint is actually a bit darker than the pics show (although the shade side shot and the hood in the last picture is a good indication!). The bright sun was good for checking for swirls though.

A couple weeks ago, we had some icing in the Dallas area. I thought it would be best to stay over at my brother's house after watching the season premire of 24 on his new DLP HDTV (sweet!) rather than drive 42 miles over numerous bridges and overpasses to get home. Unfortunately, the next morning his wife backed into my driver's side front fender, denting it and cracking the fender liner.

I took it to Mister Collision in Dallas, which is the only bodyshop I recommend to my customers. The guy does amazing work. Since I have sent a lot of business his way and because he knew I intended to have him repaint my hood before this summer, he said he would repaint it for free. The hood had been repainted before I got the car and the basecoat was not laid down well and in the full sun you could see gray vertical lines down the length of the hood.

Anyway, he had the car for 4 days and did an excellent job repainting and wetsanding. There a few light rotary holograms on the hood but nowhere near what I see coming out of every other bodyshop I whose work I have seen. The guy who washed my car there didn't do the greatest job but my car was absolutely filthy from the sand they put on the roads here and my paint is stupid soft.

It has been about 3 months since I have even waxed my car, but these pics are after I cleaned up the bodyshop wash via Clearkote's Quikshine. Notice the almost complete lack of orange peel, plus the excellent color match. No sun shots, no sun.

I believe it is the special edition. Really nice car, has the TRD exhaust and cold air intake too. Yes, the paint seems to be very easy to polish but not so soft that ONR washing mars it.

Nice job on all the vehicles, Scott. Not a fan of silver on trucks but could be persuaded when confronted with a picture like you posted.
Looks great!!

Glad to see that the daily driver is back on the road no worse for the wear. Looking good!!

Beautiful as expected Scott! Love that the color matching was perfect! Rare to see that in this days...

Excellent work, as always. I really like the Scion in that color. There's one here at the school where I teach. However, it's in the student parking lot, not the faculty lot, which is so common anymore.

There's two Bimmers in the student lot here, and one in the faculty lot. Go figure.

Anyway, I do really like the Scion. Great color, and you did it justice. And, it's nice to see you have a quality body shop in your area.

The tC looks really good! We have a deep metallic grey tC which my wife drives and it is absolutely filthy these days with all the snow (Z is hibernating so tC has to do all the work). I can't wait for things to improve so I can use my new PC, E2000 pads, and Menzerna polishes on it; none have seen any work so far.
