'06 Pilot, beading shots, '05 RL, Z06 engine, Tribute, Harley, Escalade

2006 Honda Pilot. They had a gold '04 but sold it to their daughter when she changed jobs and no longer had a company car. They like it so much so, they bought another. Only a few months old but it had been to Colorado and back. Overall it was still in excellent shape, some mud in the interior but no stains.

As you can see in the before shots, it wasn't even all that dirty.

The paint was polished with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad and topped with Optimum Car Wax.

Interior cleaned with Woolite/water and dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus and Turtle Wax Leather Conditioner.

Here are a couple beading shots of my car, 6 weeks after the 4th and final application (each one a week apart) of my 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax and only 1 wash during that time.

===========

2006 Acura RL. Wife of a regular customer's car. I wash his Escalade twice a month, hardly ever see his wife's car though. It was supposed to just be a wash but since they bought two full detail gift certificates for their two kids as a Christmas gift, I decided to apply OCW as I washed it with ONR. Maybe added 10 minutes to the wash but it really made the car look good.

===========

This is one of two C6 Z06's that I wash and wax on a monthly basis (the other one is black) so obviously it isn't a hard vehicle to clean. Just added another layer of Carnauba Moose to the exterior, and also cleaned the engine with Optimum No Rinse (it wasn't very dirty) and dressed the plastic and rubber with Optimum Protectant Plus.

2004 Mazda Tribute. They had recently moved here from Kentucky and wanted their Tribute cleaned up. The interior was filled with Goldfish, took a while to vacuum them out but once I did, the interior looked really good, maybe 2-3 small stains total. I didn't bother taking pics, brilliant sun, not a cloud in the sky and that makes for horrible interior pics when half of it is shaded and half is in the sun. Before and afters wouldn't have been all that impressive...unless it was before I vacuumed!

Anyway, the paint was in decent shape (very minimal spider webbing) but the vehicle was pretty dirty...

I went with OPS using a white LC polishing pad and topped with Poorboy's Natty's Blue.

Harley-Davidson Road King. I detail it about once a year, usually in the winter. He usually only rides it on nice days around town but also takes a couple long trips a year. Overall, it wasn't bad this time. I washed it down with Optimum No Rinse, and removed the saddle bags, windscreen and seat to make it easier.

Werkstatt's Prime and Acrylic Jett by hand, Clearkote's Vanilla Moose on all chrome, Turtle Wax Leather conditioner on leather.

He also had me detail his girlfriend's Escalade. He and 6 others drove it out to Colorado and back and he wanted it cleaned up before he gave it back to his g/f. He had it in at the dealer early that morning to fix a problem with the CD player and they washed and vacuumed it...but boy, do they suck at door jambs! Fenderwells looked horrible too.

Anyway, that sped the process up a bit since the road grime from the trip was gone, along with all the snack crumbs. The paint had some spider swirls but he told me not to go nuts on the Escalade because "she" would never know the difference and as long as th interior was spotless and the paint was shiny and slick, she'd be happy. I used Optimum Poli-Seal with a white LC polishing pad, that knocked the swirls down probably 75% or so. Not where I wanted it to be, but a noticable improvement...and I'm not doing major swirl removal for free! I finished it off with my 80/20 blend of #16/PW. Since I had the keys to the Escalade, plus it is much easier to see the interior in daylight, I was able to drive it out of the parking garage and detail it in a drive by the side of his building. I definitely wasn't pushing his Road King that far.

I wash with Optimum No Rinse and use either a chenille or microfiber covered foam pad.

I spray it on after the first drying pass and before the final drying pass.

john1c-never really like sheepskins. Chenille or MF covered foam pads seem to work best for me when using ONR. I got the last batch for $1.50 each at Big! Lots (chenille) and the MF one was given to me to try by my Optimum distributor (he thinks it is an American Buffing product).
