2003 Accord, 2003 Silverado HD, 2007 black Z06

2003 Honda Accord. The interior was in decent shape but the paint had a lot of minor scuffs, paint transfers, etc. No before pics, I started on it a little past 1 PM, meaning I had just over 4 hours to detail it inside and out before sunset. As you can see by the pics, I barely made it! To make matters worse, we got another blast of Arctic air and temperatures dropped all day long-it was around 37 when I finished with 20-30 mph north winds (by morning, it was 22) so I had that going against me too.

Anyway, some of the car was still in the sun when I started on the paint. I began with Optimum Compound using green Cyclo polishing pads and while it had no problems removing the defects, it was leaving some light marring-typical soft Honda clear coat. I switched to Optimum Polish and that did the trick. I had to make an extra pass or two each section but no biggie. I followed with Optimum's Poli-Seal using my PC and a white LC polishing pad. Application and removal was as easy as when it is warmer. I then finished with my blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax.

I think the reflection over the rear fenderwell shows just how late in the day I finished!

============

2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Weekly wash customer, last waxed with Poorboy's EX-P in late August. Still beading, slickness was down though. It only needed light polishing (last deep polishing was in April if I remember right) and since I got a late start due to the 22 degree low (it was barely 30 when I started on it at 10:30 am) I just went ahead and used Poli-Seal, PC and a white LC polishing pad. I was really pleased with the look on this dark grey metallic paint. Poli-Seal didn't remove every defect but it removed the vast majority of them. Besides, no point in any deep polishing until hunting season is over!

Beautiful work as always Scott. On a scale of 1-5, how much bite would you say Poli-seal has?

Re: 2003 Accord, 2003 Silverado HD, 2007 black Z06

2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. I wash and wax it every month, starting back in September when it was brand new. Went over the whole car then with a 70/30 blend of Menzerna 106FF/Clearkote Red Machine Glaze and topped with Souveran. Wash and Souveran again in October and November. Cold day today and Souveran can get a touch streaky on cold paint (nothing a little detail spray won't fix though) so to make things easier, I used Clearkote's Carnauba Moose instead. Honestly, I think this is the best the 'Vette has looked so I snapped a few...er...several pics. I figured its a Z06, no one will mind a lot of pics, right?

Around a 2 with a Cyclo or PC and a polishing pad. Similar to Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze.

Wow, that Vette looks amazing. Judging by these pics and pics from October and November, I'd say that CMW looks every bit as good as Souveran. Nice work on that Silverado, too. Very wet.

Just when we thought that the Z06 could not look any better, you step up.

Very nice Scott. You do so awesome on darks. I was thinking the same thing about Poli-Seal being alot like 80 but with protection and removal ease. I too have experienced some cold-*** mornings. I was 25* here Friday at 12:00PM!
LOL!
Nice protective sheet of ice to seal the paint with.

Yeah, that Z06 does look good. Could the CMW be described as a bit more reflective? (could be the lightning though). Scott how would you describe the difference in person?

Btw, here in Denmark (northern europe) we still have around 40*F in the morning rising to almost 50*F during the days. I feel so lucky

Vette looks great. Not sure I like the side mirrors though.
