My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

Sorry, nothing really cool in this one.

I hadn't washed my car in a month, finally got a chance to clean it this past Sunday. I started off with Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads, then OP again using white Cyclo finishing pads. I then followed with Optimum Poli-Seal using a blue Propel finishing pad and my PC.

I then followed with my 80/20 mix of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax by hand and took some more pics.

Re: My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

Direct comparisons-I think the difference is very noticable. Poli-Seal by itself noticably deepens and darkens the color, adding 16/PW adds a nice wet pop.

Poli-Seal only:

The Opti-Seal and 16/PW combo is killer on black.

Re: My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

2005 Honda Odyssey. Detailed it back in May. Just like when she called back then, she said it was filthy. And just like back then, her definition of filthy means incredibly clean to most other people. This is by far the most consistantly clean mini-van I regularly see.

The interior was cleaned with Woolite/water and dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus.

Overall, the paint still looked really good after May's Prime/Acrylic Jett combo. Pretty decent slickness too. I polished out a few paint transfers and light tar spots with Prime by hand and applied two layers of Acrylic Jett also by hand. Lighting is a bit weird, metallic paint can look so different as the lighting changes and I didn't have the keys to move it to a spot with more consistant lighting.

The car looks so slick. Are there certain products you use on certain cars/manufacturers?

Re: My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

2006 Chevy Trailblazer. 3rd time I have waxed this one since he got it a year ago (first with Collinite 845, then with OCW) and while it still looked decent, it had some light water spotting on the back end and passenger side. It is a company vehicle so he is limited on what he can have done and be able to get reimbursed for-as in this would be a one step job. I decided to go with Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad via PC. Cranked it up to 6 for some slow, moderate pressure passes and it completely removed the water spots! Plus it laid down a really slick, deep finish.

It depends. On two step details, I tend to stick with Optimum to polish and EX or EX-P as my sealant choices and Meguiars #16 or Clearkote's Carnauba Moose for waxes. I also mix and match as the mood hits me.

Oh Okay. That Trailblazer looks slick too. A clean black vehicle reminds ppl why they bought black. Well, it does me anyway.

Re: My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

I hope that a nice and friendly postman will deliver my Poli-Seal today... It makes the blacks sooo unbelievably dark. LOVE IT!

I'm curious; during the development stages, Anthony told me that the product was no slick at all. Welcome change I think!

Re: My car, Odyssey, Trailblazer

Is it me or did adding the topper on your car increase the clarity? In both pics, i can more clearly see the reflections of the building in the background as popposed to the pre topper where it just looks darker.

Great job on everything! I hope people understand when their detailer pulls up in a dirty car! 4 weeks without washing must have killed you! Just tell them its like the shoemaker who had no shoes!

I think it is because Poli-Seal darkens the color enough it threw off the exposure a bit. You can see in this shot with only Poli-Seal, the depth and reflections are excellent.

I usually hear "you must be really busy!"

How do you get your tire dressing application so even? It's incredible!
