Cavalier, GS300, Rolls with lots of Souveran, etc

Here are a few shots of an RX330 and Z06 with a layer of Carnauba Moose. No polishing, these vehicles are on a maintenance plan of sorts, wash one, wax the other every month-except last month, the RX330 wasn't available and the owner now likes the Z06 waxed every month.

This is a new bottle of CMW used a total of 3 times. Once on my car, and once each on the RX330 and Z06. At that rate, I can probably wax 40+ cars with one bottle!

Shot the pics in the garage, it looked like it could start raining any second and I didn't want to have to wipe the cars down if it did rain.

The Z06, since he bought it in early July has been polished with Werkstatt Prime Carnauba, then topped with Poorboy's Natty's Blue, then the following month topped with Souveran, same the month after that, then a 50/50 mix of OCW and CJ last month and Carnauba Moose this time. Don't know how much wetter I can get the paint to look but I'll keep piling on carnaubas until spring.

=========

2004 Rolls Royce Phantom. It has a base of Werkstatt's Prime and Acrylic Jett, the last two times I have waxed it (around 5 weeks apart), I have used Pinnacle Souveran.

Souveran definitely softened the appearance a bit.

Looking great Scott!

Have you ever done any serious polishing on the Rolls? How was the clear?

2000 Chevy Cavalier. The car was hit in the back end, the owner took the $2000 from the insurance company and doesn't plan on having the car fixed. However, he still wanted it detailed. Okay....

He used to work for some sort of industrial company in the Chicago area and the car was covered in grinding dust. I have never seen a car so heavily contaminated. This is the clay bar after half the hood:

Each section I clayed, before I wiped it down, looked like I had dumped rusty water on it. After claying, I noticed some paint checking (tiny cracks) on the horizontal surfaces. I talked it over with the owner because I just wasn't sure if polishing and sealing would help all that much. He said to go ahead and do the best I could. I didn't take any before pics because I honestly thought he stop at claying. Now I am kicking myself for not taking them!

I followed the clay with the new version of Opimum Hyper Compound using orange Cyclo cutting pads and a lot of pressure. To my amazement, it polished off the remants of gunk stuck to the paint, although I did have to change out pads halfway through but it really cleaned up the paint nicely and left a very wet look for a heavy compound and cutting pad. I finished the car off with Poli-Seal using my PC and a blue Propel finishing pad.

The interior got the usual, Carpet cleaned with BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner, the rest with Woolite/water and dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus.

After we finished the car, ,go inside and the owner gives us the money. I then ask him if he wants to look it over before we leave. He was so happy with the improvement, he hands me another $20. Glad I had him look it over!

I've hit it with Optimum Polish and Mernerna 106FF. Hardness seems on par with BMW, not suprising since BMW owns Rolls.

2003 Lexus GS300. I clean the owner's Carrera monthly, the Lexus a couple times a year. It was in an accident this summer so the whole back end was repainted. There were some light holograms in the paint but way less than I usually see from body shops.

Cleaned up really nicely using Optimum Polish (and this shop uses Spies-Hecker paint!) and green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads. I tried to match the lighting as best I could on a partly cloudy, somewhat hazy day.

After Optimum Polish, I finished it off with Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad. By the time we finished, the whole parking lot was in the shade. I didn't think I would be appreciated too much if I pulled the car into the street to take pictures-so I apologize in advance for them being a touch dark.

The interior process on the Lexus was the same as the Cavalier.
