Friday's detail - 2003 Carbon Black M3

UNFORTUNATELY I finished late in the day and couldn't get any decent after picures. Sorry. I am not even sure why I am posting this.

Not 100% swirl/scretch free - some were too deep & didnt want to thin the CC too much

wash
clay
EC/OP 1500 rpm on yellow pad (1st time using this brand.)
Meg's #80 pc 6 green FK1 pad (1st time using this brand.)
CG's EXTREME TOP-COAT PAINT SEALANT+ 3X CARNAUBA pc 3 black pad
fk1 Fx100 on wheels (my favorite wheels in the world!!!)

AFTERS

Well done. Seems like you sure get a lot of M3's! From the pics you post, it's pretty obvious why. What did you think of the HTEC/OP mix (the "Stilez compound, as I call it)? I'm a huge fan and have been using it a lot lately.

You know there is too much flake when your car doesn't look the colour its supposed to.

Looks good, but I don't know if I care for the interior either, looks so bland.

Good swirl removal on hard paint there.

Looks pretty good. Seems that you are using the CG sealant a lot lately, how do you like it?

Thanks - I have been using the EC/op mix for awhile and like everyone who has tried it, I also love the result. BTW I noticed that once the pad was saturated with enough OP I was able to use EC on it's own and not get dust. I would still add op here and there though.

Yes I do get lots of M3 refarrals.

Thanks everyone!

Bigpoppa3346 - it is my new favorite lsp. While I never used Zaino - from what I've seen, it looks like z5 pro. Also, very easy to use. You get a shiney, wet, glossy finish that is very slick.

Dave KG - thanks. I hate bmw paint

mr.ikon - yes, it is like carbon paper. looks blue in the sun & black other times.

ScubaStevo - the interior looks better in person, but not as good as some other color options the M3 comes with. That is what the paint suppose to look like.

Before the pictures even loaded, I knew it had BBS LMs. I LOVE those wheels too...I'd put them on anything.

Great detail, that paint is looking *yummy*.

Car looks great.

I LOVE THE BBS LM'S as well. They are $$$$ especially on that car.

how hard was it to remove those defects? i had trouble doing that when i did my friend's itnerlagos blue m3. I went from ssr 2.5 to Ip and nothing worked. Of course i did use PC. I ordered some OP/HTEC, and even HC from TOl this week and will try it next weekend. Lets see how it goes . Does spritzing some Detailing Spray help at all?

My ip and SSR 2.5 seem to just absorb into the pad after the first 5 seconds of the polishing. I use the LC Flat oragne 6.5" pad.

Even with the pics being dark, the paint looks really deep and wet. Hopefully you can get some better shots next time you detail it...based on how it looks, there will be a next time.
