F-150, Grand Marquis, Saab 9.5, Wrangler, 1500, tC, detailing until dark!

2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, detail it about once a year. Never too bad but pretty dusty this time. She has been teaching her daughter to drive on back roads near their house. Made cleaning the wheels extra fun.

Very light swirling, used Optimum Compound mixed 70/30 with Clearkote's Red Machine Glaze using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads. RMG adds more wet depth and also slickness. Waxes glide on noticably better over the mix than straight OC. Finished with Meguiars #16.

=============

2006 Ford F150. First time I have done this one, owned by one of my regular's employees. Pretty good shape overall, but there were a couple small scratches in the bed clear to the primer. Minimal swirling, Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads worked great. Topped with Poorboy's EX w/carnauba. Just love this stuff. Easy on and off even in the summer sun and very close to straight carnauba depth. I took a mix of sun and shade pics.

W-O-W... I just did a black car, and your black truck you did looks miles deeper than mine in the pics! Great job as always! Scott, try 50/50 RMG and IW845 mix...you will be in for a pleasant surprise!!!!

My son and I did these next 4 on the same day...and we didn't start until 1 PM as I had a couple cars to do for a weekly regular in the morning. The Chevy Silverado and Jeep Wrangler were full details and the tC and 9.5 were exterior only details. The truck and Jeep I detail 1-2 times a year and the owner keeps them in excellent shape so detailing them is pretty easy overall.

2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. Still had excellent gloss despite it having been 10 months since the last detail, interior still looked really good too. Hit the paint with Optimum Polish using green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and topped with Poorboy's EX. Only one shot of the truck, he had to take his son to football practice-plus I've posted this one before.

The 2003 Jeep Wrangler was in similarly good condition, same polishing step but I used Meguiars #16 to seal. Optimum Protectant Plus on the vinyl top. Posted this one before too, so only a couple shots.

His wife had a brand new Saab 9.5 turbo. Less than 2000 miles on it and examining it in the full sun revealed no swirling and minimal orange peel. Definitely one of the better factory paint jobs I've seen, fully on par with Lexus. I simply waxed it with a 50/50 mix of Optimum Car Wax and Werkstatt's Carnauba Jett. Leaves a very deep wet finish and it easier to apply than Carnauba Jett alone. Thanks again, O4cobra for the suggestion!

Lastly, I had their daughter's 2006 Scion tC to do. We'd already washed and vacuumed it, plus dressed the wheels and fenderwells and it was nearly 8 PM by now. Good thing the paint was in pretty decent shape other than some scuffs and a paint transfer on the passenger rear fender-plus it is pretty small and has a glass roof. I went over the paint with Optimum Polish using my trusty green Propel lite cut Cyclo pads and once I got about 2/3rds of the way around, my son followed with Meguiars #16. As you can see in the pics, we finished after sundown and my son was still waxing as I took pics. I also used flash in some of them.

By the time we completely finished (I still had to clean the glass in and out on the Saab and tC!) and put all our stuff away, it was a little after 9 PM.

Too be fair, that F-150 had a pretty good paint job on it and Ford black is very black, very noticable when I park next to one with my black 626.

Mix RMG with 845? Does that affect durability at all?

RMG845--- I dont know about durability at all since i literally just tried it for the first time today. I will update later when I check my neighbors car here and there and see how it holds up.

Simply exceptional! That Saab paint looks a mile deep, and the F-150 is soaking wet! Great work like always.

That Saab truly caught my eye!! Not only was your detailing job superb and unbeatable, but the design was also flawless!! I really love the silver linings on the headlights, gives a real nice highlight. All I can say is: WOW!

Scott whats the difference between 70/30 OC/RMG and 50/50 OC/OP? When do you use each?
